No offence to Americans in general, I have nothing against them unlike my friend who just dislikes them in general for random reasons of her own, but honestly when you set the language on microsoft word to English(U.K.) you would expect the spelling and grammar check to spell colour the British way as opposed to the American way. Well you would then be surprised to find that when you type "colour" in a word document the program underlines it with that familiar and incredibly annoying most of the time, squiggly redline which indicates an error in the spelling of that word. It also adds insult to injury by listing under suggestions "color" the American spelling, in the U.K. English setting! To my knowledge there is no such word in the English dictionary which is spelt "color" (please, please correct me if I'm wrong.)
Also I found out today that my brother does not intend to install word on my computer today because he is still ill, and he won't let me install it either. Not that I'm trying to be mean or anything but when I had a chest infection might I add at Christmas this year I still had to go out and do most of my Christmas shopping! He also informed me that I will not be getting the version of office that goes with the version of wiindows I have (XP), but 2000 instead. The reason? My brother's computer and our family computer both came with microsoft office already installed, whereas my computer, which might I add was bought after both of them and so should be MORE up to date rather than less, didn't come with it, but only came with stinking wordpad! I could always go out and buy another version of microsoft word but it would cost me about £20 when my parents and my brother got it free with their computers, hardly fair. So I'll just have to make do with wordpad until my brother can be bothered to install a rubbishy, better at least than wordpad version of office on my computer.
