Even though Nathaniel had told him not to wander on his own, he thought differently. He had believed that it wouldn't be that dangerous. After all, he'd been a King of England. He had seen and done many glorious things. Things that others would think would be out of a fairytale. This magic land was no different than anything he was used to ( Read more... )

A small bottle stood on the floor besides him; a glass one, with a cork - almost out; a good sovereign to bring home, perhaps. Something to take out of this place...

His eyes widen and he leaned down, grabbing the bottle from the floor. He sighs, turning it over in his hands. There is no label or note.

"Odd," he murmured.

His head tilted to the side and he sighed. Pulling the cork out of the bottle, he sniffed at the liquid inside of it. His brow furrowed. It smelled good.

The scent wafted out - soft pink smoke rising from the internal liquid; inhaling would work; but it could sink in so much drinker if he just took a sip...

He groaned at the scent. Yes, it would be something nice to take home. The bottle was nice. He could drink what was inside and take the pretty bottle back home to Belle. What would it hurt.

Think of Alice. Don't drink something you don't know what it is, Richard!

His eyes closed. Tipping his head back, he drank.

it slipped inside of him - wound its way into his flesh, suffusing his form; womanly curves, the breasts slowly growing, the sex shifting - his horns and tail growing in, as his body was slowly shifted to the creature's will...

Richard fell to the floor immediately. He screamed, his body starting to spasm and the bottle rolling from his hand. He didn't know what was happening to him and it frightened him.

He knew he shouldn't have drank it, as intoxicating as it was.

It was like he was looking in on himself from the outside. He could see his body shifting, taking a different form. His trousers ripped as he felt the tail tearing through the fabric. Eyes widened as he gazed down at his chest. He loved breasts, but this was ridiculous.

He felt the creature climbing around inside of him, like two people trying to fit into one small telephone booth. He cried out as the transformation completed. He could do nothing but watch as his body stood up, hands running down the length of his chest. Everything felt so sensitized. One hand reached down and he stroked his own tail, laughing lightly.

The creature was pleased with what happened. He could feel it. Fingers began to tease himself and Richard tried hard not to stay numb to it. He was an outsider in his own ( ... )

The portal wasn't far - just a few feet away; Nathaniel had opened it up before being called away to business; set it on a timer. So long as she got to it quick enough... yet she wouldn't; not with the time the transformation had taken, short as it was; and the time Richard had spent looking about. The portal would snap shut before she made a second step, the yellow glow disappearing... of course, it wasn't the woman's only way out - the wastelands, and freedom, laid just down the hill; if she could get to them.

Her eyes narrow and she turns, heading off down the hallway. She moves quietly, trying to be stealthy as she lurks throughout the castle. She has to make her way out without being caught. It isn't as easy as it sounds. She didn't hear any footsteps or noises, but that meant nothing. The problem was this castle. It was large, like a maze she never felt she would get out of. She sniffed the air, her nose raising and her head glancing from side to side. "That way. I smell flowers," she murmured as she headed down some stone steps.

Not far; a few steps, a turn down the corner - and she would see Nathaniel, sitting on a bench. He'd rather enjoyed Richard's presence - as small it had been; it was... a new experience dealing with another king who was simply friendly.

Now he sat on the bench, taking in the scent of flowers and trying to relax; trying not to focus on the nobles he'd have to focus on in time.

Seeing Nathaniel, she knew that she had to play peasant. Casting her eyes down to the floor, she bowed her head as she approached him. Planning to just pass him without a word, she moved slowly. Peasants did not gaze upon the King or speak without being spoken to. She swallowed, trying to appear calm. She could do this.

"I heard you'd escaped," he murmured, looking up after a moment; studying her swiftly, with a soft hum of appreciation; she looked beautiful enough - but he knew where the horns and tail were hidden; and he knew what she was.

Standing up, he stepped towards her, standing sturdily upon the garden grass. "I'd hoped to arrive in time to prevent you taking a host. But..."

She frowned and looked up at him. Of course he would catch her. He was smarter than she gave him credit for. The tales about him and his brilliance were heralded, but she didn't want to believe it. She'd hoped for something less.

Her eyes glowed, the tail and horns coming out from behind her glamour. "Good sir, whatever do you mean," she said coyly. "Of course I escaped. And no, you were too late. This host was not what I wanted, so I shifted it a little bit."

Reaching up, she ran her hands slowly down her chest. "Mmmm, it will do. I've molded it to what I need. Now, I'll just go..."

"I said I hoped; not that I didn't plan. Do you smell that?" he asked, glancing towards the flowers; dark purple, with engorged buds - now slowly opening - they weren't purely for beauty; they dampened the magic of others who came here - particularly that of the magical creatures. Absorbed spells for their food.

She paused, raising her head to sniff. Something was in the air. She groaned as she smelled the familiar scent. Her anger began to rise. No, he couldn't best her. Not so quickly. She hadn't given him much thought. She had no real backup plan. Not for this.

"Are those... No!" She glared at him. "No. I have plans! You can't." She sighed, feeling her body weaken. Slowly, she slumped down to the floor in front of him. She could feel the spell breaking. Her energy was being sucked out of her like water down the drain.

"Nathaniel," she growled.

"Bad luck," he admitted. He'd only intended to harvest some, for spell work - he hadn't known she would walk straight into it. But... "Very bad luck," he admitted.

Now that she was here, after all - it would be easy enough to repress the being inside the woman's mind; though perhaps not without side effects; still, if he could keep it distracted for a few minutes more... it might even fall sleep.

ooc: I see no reason to give Nathaniel his way entirely. ;) A struggle could help it obliterate Richard's memory on the way down - saving itself some trouble later if it manages to re-emerge.

"I'm not the only one with bad luck."

She glared at him as she slowly pulled herself up onto her hands and knees. Her body moved at almost a snail's pace as she dragged herself up to her feet. Reaching out, she threw all her power at him. Yelling out an incantation, she aimed her magic in his direction, blasting at him.

She would not go down without a fight. She had plans for this vessel. It was too beautiful a body to waste. "You will not win, conjurer!"
