"So essentially, they loved my idea and gave me and my team full control of the project for the next six weeks."
"Well, I didn't understand half of what you said", Jason said, balancing the cordless phone against his shoulder as he buttoned his third shirt of the evening, "But it sounds like things went really well. Okay, I've got the white one on, now. Which tie should I wear?"
"No tie, Jace. It's a date, not work." Harry sounded concerned. "Look, are you sure this Zatanna isn't trying to steal some of your magic tricks or something?"
"First, I'm not a magician. Second, she's only interested in stealing something that I'm more than willing to give away."
"No kidding. You've only mentioned that about twelve times today. But I've never heard you mention her before. Are you sure this isn't some trap?"
"For God's sake, Harry, I don't tell you about every woman I've been with."
"Actually, you do. Repeatedly. It's one of those perks of being your friend."
"Charming. I'm certain everything will be fine. What about flowers?"
"Sure, but I'm not sure why you would bother."
"Look, it's seven thirty. I should be off."
"Take care, Jace. I still think you should stay home."
"Objection noted." *click* Jason returned the phone to its complicated cradle and left for Shadowcrest.
