(OOC: To answer your question regarding insanity... -"Yes.")
Your name: David and Stephanie.
Your Livejournal: theworldslips and its_stephanie24
Character name: Cathy Getches (which we so did not get from an obituary…)
Character age: 25 Character grade (junior or senior) : N/A. She’s the maid at the Osbourne/Clark household.
Character gender: Female
Werewolf, vampire, or human: Human.
Appearance (a celebrity to relate to can be handy) : Jamie Ray Newman
Backhistory:
Cathy Getches just graduated from a school for Maids. She’s got credentials, straight from England which seems the place to get them. She’s not actually from England. She was born in New Hampshire, but that’s pretty close to London right?
Anyways, Cathy babysat all throughout High School and enjoyed it, got an internship in a nursery her Senior year and from there was offered the chance to study abroad in England to become a self-respecting Maid with a diploma, which is the best kind of maid out there of course. She has a bit of pride about it. She’d never let you know though, that’s against what she’s been grown up to act like. “Pride cometh before the fall.” Right?
The home of Julian Osbourne and Savannah Clark is her second paying job position. Her first was a gig in an English mansion with a five year old boy and a ten year old girl to boot. That one ended because a guy from Washington offered her more money…she really did love those kids though.
Third-Person Sample
Cathy lay staring at the ceiling of her bedroom. She had slept in a “haunted house” before and could remember well the strange sensations she had felt climbing over her subconscious all evening.
She had absolutely no reason to believe that the house of her new employers was haunted and yet she was still trembling, shivering from the familiar ecstasy. It was not, as she had considered that night before, a clairvoyant awareness of ethereal energy, but simply a sense of dread brought on by the very thought that something supernatural might exist within the confines of the house, perhaps even her room…
And yet she had no reason to even consider this. Julian was a polite, southern man and his adopted daughter was sweet and respectful; English too. Yes, they were a bit odd, but perhaps that can be expected in their situation? There was nothing about them yet, other than their appearances: stunningly beautiful; that would lead her to consider them as anything more than humans who didn’t get out much. Such thoughts had not yet even crossed her mind…
But there was still something, something that made the hair on the back of her neck stand alert. Something that made it impossible to close her eyes and sleep…for no matter how hard she tried she could not escape the sense that there was someone else in the room.
PERSONALITY: Cathy is an intelligent woman. She knows when to be persistent and when to back off. However, this doesn’t stop her from being curious. Cathy loves a mystery, though sometimes, as they say, curiosity kills the cat and she finds herself in way over her head. She can be light-hearted at times, though she keeps a professional attitude while working and tries not to let her personal life interfere with her work one.
FIRST-PERSON SAMPLE: I was a little bit surprised that a home in Forks, Washington needed a maid. I was even more surprised to meet my new employers, a Mr. Julian Osbourne and his foster daughter, a Miss Savannah Clark. I smiled as I walked up to the porch. Julian, a stunningly handsome man, was there to greet me. “Miss Getches, I trust your trip went well?” he asked in a voice with an accent that dripped like honey. He held out a pale hand, and as I grasped it, his skin was like ice. “Yes sir. Very pleasant,” I said politely, hiding my shock. He grinned, showing ultra-white teeth. “Excellent.” He waved a hand and from a swing in the far corner of the porch, a beautiful young woman glided silently to his side. “My daughter, Savannah,” Julian said smoothly. “Savannah, this is Cathy Getches.” I smiled warmly and held out a hand to the stunning girl. “Pleasure,” she said taking my hand. Like Julian, she had an accent though hers was English with a hint of the honey-like accent Julian had. And, like Julian, her skin was like ice. One thing I noticed though was, unlike Julian, she didn’t seem pleased at all to see me.
