((number seventy-four)) it was a cold California evening

last friday starts with the cashing of my paycheck, continues with me handing over a third to the auto body shop for the deductable on our car to be fixed (car accidents are bad news, so don't ever have them, and especially don't have 5 in 3 years). the minor details of the 2 hour drive to buffalo can be skipped. a lot of silence and way too much of dave matthews. not that i don't like dave matthews. it was just too much. anyway, i check into the hotel (thank you RRI for letting me stay free because i work for you) and the girl at the desk tells me new found glory is staying there as well. that's cool, whatever. all i cared about was going to the show. oh, did i mention i saw new found glory on friday? yeah. #3 on my best shows EVER list. i'm at school on the computer or i would post pictures. it was amazing. the venue was small, the line was short. perfect. fast forward through john ralston, cartel, a great set by the early november, and then nfg. i am still grinning like a moron at how amazing this show was. yes, i was immediately smashed against the girl ahead of me, the guy on my left continuously elbowed me in the arm and left me bruised, i took a shoe to the left eye compliments of a crowd surfer(and was sickly stoked over the fact). by the third song into the set everyone was sweating and the temperature had gone up at least 20 degrees. i needed this show. it was amazing. there's video and pictures but since i am at the library they will have to wait. jordan and chad were incredibly sweet after the show. a kid standing beside me outside asked jordan about possibly collaborating with hatebreed. jordan then demonstrated what hit or miss would sound like if a hardcore version were made. am i in love with nfg? yes. is their new album incredible? yes. was this night amazing? yes. there are more shows to attend this fall but they're going to have to work pretty hard to top this.

thank you paige for being right about nfg's new stuff.
