Summary: That one summer, Jongin found Do Kyungsoo. That one summer, Jongin found home.
Author's Note: First of all thank you for the mods for holding this exchange and they’ve been patient although I’m not good with deadline at all. Also to the prompter, this fic only have like half based on your prompt and the rest based on my imagination, I wonder if it is alright… but I hope you like it! It’s the prompt number 3!
Jongin notices him for the first time on summer day of his second year of high school.
It’s a pretty hot day. The humid air is killing Jongin slowly, and the small fan that he stole from his sister’s room is not helping at all. Even Sehun who usually can’t stop talking and fidgeting on his seat, is planting his forehead down to the desk, quiet like a dead fish.
“Hey,” he calls. “Let’s go to the swimming pool later.”
Jongin simply nods, doesn’t want to use his precious energy to answer. But he knows that Sehun knows he wouldn’t have any objection since the cold water of swimming pool is all he needs right now.
So here they are, moments later, on the swimming pool that their school provided for student and teacher to use for free.
Jongin strips from his clothes quickly and wears the swimming pants that somehow becomes the essential item on his bag, since invitation to go somewhere near the water is unlimited on summer days.
Sehun already beats him as he quickly jumps into the pool, making the water splashing everywhere. “Ah, it’s good!” he yells in joy.
Jongin joins him afterward, jumps into the cold water and swimming around it for a bit. When he thought, I don’t have any energy left, I’m hungry, he starts to float around, feeling a nice flow of water on his back.
“It’s weird that no one from swimming club is here,” Jongin says.
“Oh, yeah, majority of the members are third years, so maybe they are studying for university now?”
Jongin hums absentmindedly, and their conversation stirs away to another topic, as Sehun asks, “What kind of ice cream should I get today?”
Jongin quietly watches the bright blue sky, then the fluffy cotton-like clouds, blinding sun, the building around the swimming pool, and oh, there’s someone who sit alone beside the window. Judging from the location of the building and the floor he’s on, that person must be at the school’s library.
“Hey, there’s someone there. On the library’s window.”
Sehun who swims beside him stops for a moment and looks at the window. “Ah, that must be Kyungsoo hyung.”
“Huh? Who?”
“Do Kyungsoo.”
Oh, I’ve never heard that name before, Jongin thought.
“How do you know?”
“Chanyeol introduced him to me when I walked past the library and saw them there. He’s currently helping to be library receptionist.”
“Is he Chanyeol’s classmate?”
“Yeah, seems like Chanyeol already attached to him, although they just became classmate for the first time this year.”
“Really?”
Sehun hums. “It kinds of weird. Kyungsoo said he always ignore Chanyeol because he’s noisy, but Chanyeol wouldn’t stop bothering him, like those kind of nephew who always bothers you because they like you without any reason, even though you don’t like them at all.”
Jongin laughs at that. He totally can imagine it to happen.
“Hey, let’s swim around for fifteen minutes then we’re done, okay?”
“Huh? Why?”
“I think my skin starts to burn right now. Damn you Mr. Sun.”
Jongin chuckles. “That’s good, isn’t it? Finally you have some color on your pale skin.”
“To be honest, I was also worried that you gonna be darker than what you’re now.”
“Fuck you.”
Sehun sticks his tongue out in mocking manner before he swims away to avoid Jongin from hitting him.
True to his word, they stop swimming fifteen minutes later and after they shower and wears the school uniform again, they’re ready to go home.
As they walk to the school’s gate, Jongin sees a guy walking to the same direction as them.
“Oh, Kyungsoo hyung!” Sehun yells out loud.
That guy turns his head around to the them and what Jongin sees first is how fair his skin is. Sehun has a pale skin, the kind of what vampire would have on the novel that his sister read, but this guy has a white skin that looks glowing under the sun and Jongin secretly likes that kind of skin.
The second is how the wind breeze plays with the fluffy, long black hair, making him holding back his long strands of hair so it wouldn’t get mess. Then his eyes that twice as big as Jongin’s eyes, his small figures that only meet Jongin’s shoulder, and the last, how his lips turns into a heart-shaped one as he smiles to them.
“Hi, Sehun-ah,” he says.
Jongin didn’t expect his voice to be that deep and it caught Jongin off guard.
As Jongin suddenly stucks to where he stands, completely speechless, somewhere deep inside his mind he knows what is happening to him.
On the summer day of his second year of high school, Kim Jongin falls in love at the first sight with Do Kyungsoo.
-
It’s safe to say that Jongin falls pretty hard, judging by how Kyungsoo’s face, Kyungsoo’s smile, Kyungsoo’s fair skin, Kyungsoo’s everything, stay in Jongin’s mind for a long time.
They meet for a second time a week after the first meeting, with Chanyeol walking beside him like a puppy clinging to his owner as they walk home together. He can’t stop thinking about how lucky Chanyeol is to be that close with Kyungsoo.
He must be doing a poor job to hide his feeling because one day, out of nowhere, Sehun chirps, “Will you do something with those gay feeling?”
Jongin freezes on his spot, then stutters, “Is it that obvious?”
“Kinds of?”
Shit. “Then he might… know it?”
“If he’s not as dense as rock, then yes.”
Jongin remembers how he plants his face into his palms, groaning in embarrassment. Sehun just snickers beside him, that bastard.
While Jongin is still harboring a crush to Kyungsoo, God decided that it’s finally his time to make his move with it, as he sees Kyungsoo struggling to walk as he carries lots of book during lunch time. No one is helping him, so Jongin thought, Why not?
He approaches Kyungsoo slowly, and he turns his head in confusion as he notices Jongin.
“Um,” he starts, “Need some help?”
Kyungsoo blinks once, twice before he nods while smiling and damn it looks beautiful. He lets Jongin takes some of the book, and doesn’t say anything when Jongin takes more than half of the books, leaving Kyungsoo with a small amount so it wouldn’t be hard to carry.
Instead, he says, “I know you’re Sehun’s friend, but I don’t know your name.”
“I-it’s Kim Jongin,” fuck why he stutters, “And you are?”
“Do Kyungsoo. Nice to meet you, Jongin-ah.”
Jongin screams internally at how Kyungsoo casually calling him Jongin-ah and how good it sounds with Kyungsoo’s deep voice saying it. Jongin likes it, a lot.
“Nice to meet you too,” he replies. “Anyway, where do you gonna put this book?”
“It’s a new book for the library, it was delivered to the teacher’s room instead of library so I need to help to move it.”
Jongin’s mouth forms an ‘o’ shape and nodding his head slowly. “You work as library receptionist, right?”
“Oh, how do you know?”
Wait, does he sound like a creep just now?
“From Sehun. He told me before.”
“Oh, right,” Jongin must be imagining things because he heard a disappointment in Kyungsoo’s voice. “I’m just helping until summer’s vacation, because the receptionist from before is on maternity leave.”
Jongin hums, not knowing what to reply at first. “It’s not boring?”
Kyungsoo shakes his head. “I love to read, so this job is like, a perfect one?”
“Oh, I love to read too!” Jongin replies, excited to know that they share the same hobby.
Kyungsok must be thinking the same thing, because they just fall into an easy conversation as they talk about their favorite book and author. Even until they arrive on the library and Jongin helps to put the book into the shelf, they’re still talking in the same excitement.
“I like to go to book fair, y’know? Because you can find lots of book that you’ve never heard before, and it’s cheap,” Kyungsoo says.
“Me too,” Jongin agrees. “Oh, I heard there’s a book fair on Samcheongdong this Sunday, want to go together?”
The second the invitation went out from Jongin’s mouth without him thinking any further, somehow making him regrets it almost immediately. What if Kyungsoo thought he’s a creep, asking to go somewhere together when they just know each other for half an hour? What if -
“Yes.”
Jongin stops whatever he’s doing that time.
“Yes?”
Kyungsoo nods. “Let’s go to the book fair, together. And it’s a date.”
Oh. Oh.
Jongin feels a smile spreading across his face, and he must be looking like an idiot right now. “You want to go on a date with me?”
Kyungsoo nods again and he simply gives his phone to Jongin. “Your number, so we can discuss the plan later.”
Jongin types his number quickly and saves his contact as ‘Jongin’ then giving it back to Kyungsoo.
“I’ll text you later.”
Jongin nods dumbly, and after he’s done with putting the book, he really wants to stay with Kyungsoo but unfortunately, he forgot that he hasn’t eat anything and lunch time gonna end in fifteen minutes. He feels his stomach whining quietly, asking for food. He has no choice.
“I need to go now. Talk to you later?”
“Okay.” Kyungsoo flashes his another beautiful smile and Jongin is swooning a little - or a lot - at that.
As he walks out from the library to the nearest snack vending machine, he feels his phone vibrates on his pocket. He takes it out and almost drop it when he sees the message on the screen.
From : Unknown Number
Hello, this is Kyungsoo. I forgot to thank you for helping me, so let me treat you to something on Sunday, maybe lunch?
Jongin doesn’t know who is the mischievous looking guy with sharp cheekbone and cat-like smile who happens to walk beside him, but he just yells, “High five!” and despite being surprised, the guy still offers his palm out and do a high five with Jongin.
After that, Jongin is hopping happily, leaving the confused guy alone.
(What he doesn’t know is that guy named Kim Jongdae, talks to his friend named Kyungsoo, saying There was a weird junior, a tan guy, asking me for a high five after he saw his phone on lunch time, makes me wonder what happened. And he wonders the same thing when he sees Kyungsoo’s cheeks turn into a deep red.)
-
Jongin kinds of proud to say that his first date with Kyungsoo was good. They went to the book fair first, looking through the book and somehow ends up buying a book for each other. Jongin treasures that book a lot, he even put it back into the plastic wrap after reading it because it’s the first thing Kyungsoo gave him and it’s too precious for him. After that, they went to lunch and Kyungsoo didn’t forget to treat him. Jongin whined a bit because he didn’t want to owe him something, so Kyungsoo simply said, “Then you treat me on the next date. Deal?”
Jongin was ecstatic because Kyungsoo wanted to go on a date with him again, making him had this gross smile - that’s what his sister said - when he came home.
From there, they have their second date, then third, fourth, and so on until Jongin lost count of it. But he remembers that on the five date, at the front gate of Kyungsoo’s house, he was tripping on words as he asked, “Will you go out with me? Like, for real? As my boyfriend?”
Kyungsoo answered it with a kiss on his cheek and a tight hug, which Jongin returned equally tight.
When their friends know about their relationship, Sehun just says Fucking finally, now Jongin will stop his awful pinning. Chanyeol asks how he manages to tame Kyungsoo, which earn him a head lock from the said person.
Their relationship is going well, that sometimes Jongin wonders how it seems like too good to be true. Kyungsoo sometimes busy with his studies because he’s a third year, but Jongin is fine with it because they’re still chatting a lot, sometimes they have a long phone calls.
They have their first kiss a day before summer vacation. Jongin drags Kyungsoo with him to swim together on the school’s swimming pool, and because he’s feeling a little bit mischievous, he pulls Kyungsoo into his chest as he stands on the edge of the pool. Kyungsoo screams and loud Jongin-ah! pierce through the silent, as both of them falls to the cold water, still on their uniform and shoes.
“Jongin-ah, what are you doing?!” Jongin only laugh when his boyfriend cutely clinging into him while hitting him on the chest with his fist.
“Sorry, sorry.” To be honest, he’s not that sorry at first, but then Kyungsoo glares at him and he suddenly feels scared with it.
“Seriously, I’m sorry.”
He swims to the edge with Kyungsoo on his arms, so both of them can go out from the pool, but then he accidentally backing Kyungsoo off to the pool’s wall and Kyungsoo’s cheeks turns into a pretty shade of red because oh, their position is kind of intimate. Jongin’s hand is around Kyungsoo’s waist, Kyungsoo’s hands is gripping his wet uniform and there’s not distance between them.
Jongin should have feeling shy, like he always do, but instead he’s feeling a strange urge swelling inside his chest as he watches at how the sunshine reflect on Kyungsoo’s big eyes and his heart-shaped lips is looking wet and pink and tempting. He draws his face closer, and as if he’s thinking the same thing, Kyungsoo puts his hands around Jongin’s neck and pulls himself up to meet Jongin halfway.
Jongin doesn’t feel a fireworks or electric current like how the novel uses to describe how kissing your love one feels, but instead he can feels his heart beating faster and maybe Kyungsoo is feeling the same because really, one person can’t have a heartbeat this loud. But it feels good, so good that they spend time kissing for a while, ignoring the fact they’re on public place and anyone can walk on them anytime.
When they go home on their gym clothes and wet shoes, it should have been uncomfortable but as their hand intertwined tightly and the smile on their face is big enough it hurts, they feel content instead.
Their relationship still going strong even after Kyungsoo graduates, going to the faculty of Pharmacy on one of the top university on Seoul. The next year, Jongin enters the same university but to the Art Faculty, the dance major to be precise because he loves dancing.
On their third year together, Jongin takes a brave step as he asks Kyungsoo to move in together with him. He kinds of scared that Kyungsoo might think it’s too early for them, but he gets a loud smooch on his lips and Kyungsoo clinging to him like a koala as the answer. It reminds him with the time he asked Kyungsoo to be his boyfriend, but this time what he feels is thousand time better than that time.
They search for a place together, and the one that both of them like is a fifteen minutes away from the train station, a convenience store right around the corner and a nice family restaurant right across it, with a nice neighborhood. An apartment with two rooms, one bathroom, kitchen and living room. The rent is rational for student like them, beside Jongin starts to work part-time and Kyungsoo also get paid when he’s helping at the lab so they don’t have a hard time to pay it. Oh, and they even let people to have a pet there, which is a good thing because Jongin can bring his precious poodle, Monggu, to his apartment on the weekend.
The owner is a nice middle-aged woman who doesn’t have any problem with them being a couple because his son is also gay. Even their neighbor don’t have any problem too and they’re very welcome with Jongin and Kyungsoo. They even gain a new friend, like Baekhyun from room 201, although sometimes he’s too chatty and noisy for their liking, he’s actually a good person. He kinds of remind Jongin of Chanyeol, thinking they can be best friend if they meet each other.
And for the first few months, it’s been a bliss living together with Kyungsoo. He likes how they can go to the grocery together, sometimes bickering about what to buy and not to buy. After that, they will go home and cook a dinner together. Jongin is not a bad cook, his cooking is edible but sometimes he fucks up the seasoning, and Kyungsoo? He’s a God of cooking, if Jongin can say. He can cook pretty much everything, from Asia to Western food, and it tastes good. Even when Jongin is sick and Kyungsoo makes him a porridge, it should have taste bland and awful but it’s still taste good. Jongin wonders how Kyungsoo does that.
When they’re not busy, they will spend the time after dinner to watch television together. Sometimes they put on some movies, or simply watching any drama that’s airing on that time, or a re-run of Pororo - don’t judge, Jongin really love that show and even though Kyungsoo teased him a lot at first, he always watches it together with Jongin.
If they’re busy with their studies, they will spend their time to finish it alone. That’s why the chose an apartment with two bedroom, because they still need their own space. Kyungsoo needs his space to finish his paper, and Jongin needs his space to choreograph a dance routine or editing a song. But once the night falls deeper, they will go to one of the room to sleep together.
They bought a big enough bed for them to sleep together, so there’s no problem at all. Usually they sleep on Jongin’s bed because Jongin can accidentally fall asleep, leaving Kyungsoo to climb into the bed and take his space around Jongin’s arm on his own.
When the morning comes, Jongin wakes up to two options: Kyungsoo still sleeping because the day before been a hectic day, or Kyungsoo watching him with soft gaze then saying, Good morning, Jongin-ah. He loves it either way.
But then Kyungsoo steps into his senior year and he’s busier than before. Jongin thought that with them living together, then it’s not gonna be a problem.
But he’s never been this wrong before.
“So he hasn’t come home for two days?” Sehun asks from across the line of the call.
Jongin sighs. “Yeah, he hasn’t.”
Senior year means more research, more studies, even to the point it’s not weird to spend the night on the lab.
“He said even the professor also stay the night on the lab, so it must be an important research,” Jongin adds.
“Don’t be whinny, you have gone through something like this before when he was a freshman and we were on the third year. You guys were busy that you didn’t have time to meet each other.”
“But we chatted and called each other a lot. But now he only sends me few chats.”
“You know he takes his studies very serious.”
Jongin hums, can’t deny because it’s true. But he also can’t deny that he feels lonely.
Their apartement is quite small, but somehow it feels big with the absent of his lover. He does everything with Kyungsoo, like they are join on the hip whenever they’re home. On the time like these, Jongin swears there’s sparks fly everywhere.
But without Kyungsoo, he’s all alone, and the sparks fly away.
Sehun doesn’t say anything for a moment, like he probably knows what Jongin’s thinking right now. He always does. “I know you can do it. Beside, staying there means he tries to finish it faster. The faster he finishes it, the faster he can go home as usual.”
Jongin prays that time will come sooner.
He talks with Sehun for a while, until his friend excuses himself, saying There’s something I should do.
“Oh? Are you going to date with that cute barista? The Chinese guy,” Jongin tries to sound as innocent as possible.
He suppress his laugh as Sehun slightly chokes at his question.
“T-that’s none of your business, Kim Jongin. I’ll go now, talk to you later.”
“Say hello to him from me!”
Sehun hangs up quickly and Jongin lets out the laugh that he hold back before. Really, Sehun might looking cold and ignorant, but he’s actually a mess when someone teases him about his love life. What a gap-moe, Chanyeol always say.
Suddenly, a familiar ringtone fills Jongin’s room and he quickly picks up the call.
“Hello?”
“Hello, Jongin-ah.”
A big, wide smile appears on Jongin's face almost immediately. “What’s up, babe?”
“Um,” Jongin chuckles at how Kyungsoo startled a bit at the nickname, “It’s nothing important. I just want to tell you that I might stay the night again today.”
Jongin’s smile falter a bit at that.
“It’s not done yet?”
“Not anytime soon, I guess.”
“Do you need clothes or something? I’ll bring it.”
“Yeah, I need the usual stuffs. Oh, also lab coat too.”
“Roger. Anything else?"
"No, just that," he pauses, "I miss you, Jongin-ah."
Jongin wants to say that Kyungsoo doesn't have any idea that Jongin misses him so much to the point he wants to spend the night together on the lab if he can. But Jongin doesn't want to be selfish, not when he knows this research is important to Kyungsoo and he can't bother him more than this.
He settles with, "Miss you more. But we’re gonna meet again soon."
"Yeah," at the background, Jongin heard someone calling Kyungsoo's name. "I need to go back now."
"Okay, see you soon."
Kyungsoo hums. "I love you, Jongin-ah."
Oh shit.
"L-love you too, hyung."
Kyungsoo is the one who hangs up, and Jongin is left as blushing mess. Sometimes Kyungsoo always caught him off guard and it’s totally lame with how he reacts like a middle school student who just having his first love.
Shaking off his embarrassment, he goes to Kyungsoo’s room and opens the closet. He grabs one of the bag that big enough and starts filling it with Kyungsoo’s stuff that he needs for staying the night like clean clothes and towel. He also folds the clean lab coat and puts it inside the bag. Once it’s all done, he brings it into their living so he wouldn’t forget.
Jongin glances at the kitchen and his first thought is I can bring him some food. He hasn’t seen Kyungsoo that often lately, but he notices that his lover has been losing some weight. His chubby cheeks losing its fat, and Jongin kinds of miss it.
So he walks to the kitchen and goes straight to the refrigerator. He opens it and looks at the stuffs they have inside, which is not a lot since he hasn’t shop and spends more time eating outside with his friends. He makes a note that he should definitely go shopping later so when Kyungsoo comes home, he can cook his favorite meal.
Then what should I make for Kyungsoo? Jongin wonders.
Maybe something easy to eat, so he wouldn’t waste much time with eating. Something like snack, or - oh.
Jongin quickly opens the upper kitchen cabinet and immediately sees what he’s looking for. He rummages into it and after checking that he has all the ingredients, he knows that he can make this one.
Something easy to eat and acts as a snack - cookie.
Kyungsoo is working hard right now, so he needs something to pump up his energy, so something with chocolate in it. Then, the classic chocolate chip cookie? Or a simple chocolate cookie?
He settles with chocolate chip cookie because they don’t have much chocolate bar left with Sehun always steals some of it. But it’s too simple to only have one flavor, so maybe adding another flavor cookie?
Jongin opens his phone and goes straight to youtube. He types ‘cookie recipe’ and lots of it comes out. Most of it are chocolate chip cookie, but there’s also butter cookie and oreo cookie, and then Jongin sees it and thinks, this is it.
He clicks the tutorial video of how to make red velvet with chocolate chip cookie and watches it until it’s done. It’s not that different from the original cookie, the only difference is he needs food coloring, chocolate powder and white chocolate, and it’s quite strange that he has all of it inside the kitchen cabinet.
Jongin smiles giddily as he takes out all the ingredients to start making the cookie so he can delivers it along with the other Kyungsoo’s stuffs.
-
Jongin can’t believe it’s a successful attempt as he sees all the beautiful cookies lined up on the baking tray.
He already tried some and it tastes really good and he should thank the baking guru on youtube because their recipes are awesome. He takes a photo of the cookies and gonna send it to Sehun later because his friend is always underestimate his kitchen skill. This will shut him up, Jongin proudly thought.
He puts the cookie into a box that big enough to fit because Jongin accidentally baked too much cookie and he has like thirty something on the baking tray, while he’s still has some dough left that he puts into the freezer and probably will bake it again tomorrow.
Once all the cookies have move into the box, he puts the box into the bag as well and Jongin quickly goes back into his room to change his t-shirt and sweatpants into a comfortable hoodie and a blue jeans, something that appropriate enough to wear to the campus.
After that, he puts his wallet and phone into his pocket - of course after texted Kyungsoo that he’s on his way - and grabs the bag. The box of cookie catches his eyes and he silently hopes that Kyungsoo gonna like it.
-
Kyungsoo’s face lits up when he sees Jongin, and he feels the same thing is happening on his face as well.
He’s still wearing his lab coat and after all this time, Jongin still thinks that Kyungsoo looks hot on it.
“Hey, thank you for coming,” he says, taking the bag from Jongin’s hand.
“No problem,” Jongin sees Kyungsoo’s big eyes looking straight into the boxes on top of his clothes, “And that’s something that I made just now.”
“What is it?”
Jongin doesn’t have to answer it though, because Kyungsoo already open the box and he gasps.
“It’s cookies!”
Jongin knows he’s smiling like a fool watching his lover getting excited by box of cookies, but really, it’s a cute scenery.
“I made lots of it so you can share it with your lab partners, or the professor,” Jongin suggests.
Kyungsoo nods eagerly before he takes one of the chocolate chip cookie and bites it. “It’s good!”
He does the same reaction to the red velvet one and it totally makes Jongin feels like floating around the clouds.
“Really, Jongin, I don’t know what to say,” Kyungsoo mutters. “You do a lot of things for me.”
Jongin lets out a chuckle. “Of course, I do. I’m your boyfriend and it’s not weird for me to support my lover.”
Kyungsoo smiles at him and it weaken his heart because it’s been two days since he last saw the pretty smile on his heart-shaped lips. He looks around for a moment before he pulls Jongin down to pecks him on the lips, but before Jongin can return the kiss, he already pushes him lightly.
“The rest is for later when I’m finally come home,” he winks playfully at Jongin before he waves and goes back to the lab.
And once again, Do Kyungsoo left Jongin as a blushing mess again.
-
After finishing his box of fried chicken, Jongin goes back again to edit the final video of dance routine that he makes together with Sehun. It depends on his editing skill now if he wants to get a straight A for this project, so he spends the night focusing on where to highlight the dance movement and where to capture the good expression of them, until he doesn’t realize that it’s almost midnight.
He decides to call it a day and will finish it tomorrow when he meets up with Sehun, so he saves the editing video and shuts down his laptop. After that, he walks out of his room and goes to the bathroom to brushes his teeth and washes his face.
When he’s back into his room, he turns off the lamp then throws himself into the bed and covers himself with a warm, thick blanket. He dozes off not long after that.
It might be half an hour later that he feels a dip on the bed and someone snuggling into his back that he forces himself to open his eyes.
This might be a dream because he shouldn’t have gone home tonight, but there’s no harm to check it out.
“Kyungsoo?” he calls.
The figure behind him shifts a little bit, but Jongin heard a small Jongin-ah and it seriously wakes him up from his sleep.
He turns around and sees Kyungsoo still on his shirt and jeans, trying to snuggle closer to him.
“Aren’t you supposed to stay the night today?”
Kyungsoo nods slowly. “Yeah, but my professor said I should go home.”
“Huh? Why?”
“Because I said I haven’t meet my lover for two days already but he’s still kind enough to make me cookies, and he even suggested to share it with my lab partners and professor.”
Jongin can’t stop the laugh that he automatically lets out. “And then?”
“And then we eat your cookies until there’s nothing left. They said your cookies were so good and my professor was moved because you were a good lover. And he said ‘Let’s go home everybody, because our important person is waiting at home and we shouldn’t make them waiting any longer than this.’ So here I am.”
“So you used me, the pitiful lover, and his God cookie as a bribe?”
Kyungsoo’s body shakes a little as he laughs. “I guess?”
Jongin joins it as he laughs, burying his face into Kyungsoo’s hair and pulls his lover closer.
“It feels good to be home,” Kyungsoo says.
Jongin hums. “I know.”
Kyungsoo might need to go back to the lab again tomorrow morning, leaving Jongin alone again. But it’s a different matter, because what matter now is Kyungsoo lying on his arms, snuggling like he used to do and it’s enough.
Beside, no matter how long or how far Kyungsoo goes, he will always come back to this place again. His home.
Jongin genuinely feels happy as he smiles and sneaks a peck on Kyungsoo’s forehead.
Our home.
