On the weekdays after school or on weekends, Jongin visits the Serenity flower shop only to hang out with his older, cute boyfriend (Kyungsoo beg to differ that he is cute, nope he is manly) while occasionally enjoying the carnation tea made by the petite florist. Baekhyun, Luhan and Minseok somehow never fails to interrupt their intimate stares by obnoxiously loud remarks like 'eye-fucks are prohibited in the workspace, thank you' or 'we have enough love in the air right now, god just go out on dates'.
To avoid the insistent nags by the three florists - Kyungsoo knows that they are jealous of the attention Jongin gave him during work - he and the brown-haired boy plan to go out on a simple first date after business hour ends on a weekend, as in having dinner together or watching a movie in cinema because Kyungsoo isn't fond of extravagant arrangements. But then Jongin decides to alternate the plan and when Kyungsoo asks about it, the boy mentioned that it is a secret so he does not pry into the matter anymore. The brown-haired boy is always full of unexpected surprises.
As Kyungsoo and Jongin walk down the street with stupid wails accompanying their retreats ('Have fun and control yourself, Soo-ah!' - Luhan and Baekhyun), the young boy is quick to interlace their pinky fingers subtly which had the older blushes in retaliation and he squeezes the finger affectionately to the touch.
"Hyung, how about we take a walk around the park? I want to eat ice cream!" Jongin exclaims happily to his boyfriend while slightly swinging their intertwined fingers back and forth.
Seeing the joyous expression on the boy's face, Kyungsoo couldn't reject the offer, not when he himself craves for the sweet treat on the sunny evening. "Of course, Jongin-ah."
The couple walks side by side without rush as they begin to talk about their personal lives like their birthdays which they couldn't get over the fact that the dates are literally a day interval to each other and their ages where Kyungsoo is finally aware that Jongin is in his last year of high school while the florist himself is 21 years old. Love knows no boundaries when it comes to your ages.
Without Jongin and Kyungsoo realises, they already arrive at the park situated in the heart of the town, children running around chasing each other happily while parents observing in silence. The couple wastes no time to go to an ice cream booth set up there, a girl patiently waiting for their orders behind the small counter, noting a large cup of mint chocolate chip for Jongin and a small cup of vanilla-strawberry swirl for Kyungsoo. It takes a few minutes to decide who is paying (Kyungsoo insists that he should pay for the sweet confection as he is the older in the relationship while Jongin said that he wanted to repay for the free orchid bouquet) and in the end, they both pay for their own ice creams.
The lovebirds walk around the park to find a secluded place to sit on while enjoying their sugary treats. Once they found an available bench under a shade tree, they sit themselves down and continue eating in silent.
It is then Jongin start the conversation, cutting the peaceful quietness. "Kyungsoo-hyung," the boy fiddles with the plastic spoon in his hand, "if I say that I have a secret, would you force me to spill it?"
Kyungsoo instantly stops enjoying his ice cream. "What?! Why should I force you to spill your secret??"
"I mean, don't you want to know about my private matters? Or whatever my thoughts are? I am well aware that people say trust is essential in a relationship, so aren't you curious about me?" The boy interjects back, frown adorns the handsome face.
The older puts down his ice cream cup on the empty space of the bench as he faces the young male to carefully resolve the sudden sensitive subject. "Jongin," Kyungsoo places his hand on top of the boy's wiggling hand for assurance, "I don't know why do you think like that, but I would never force you to talk about your secrets unless it is at your own will, sweetheart. Private matters are something to be told to your most entrusted person and even though we are boyfriends, that doesn't mean I already gained your faith. We have a long journey to discover about each other, so don't ponder too much if that's your concern, alright? Like I said, you can always tell me when you are ready." He soothingly talks in mild tone. Kyungsoo doesn't know why his boyfriend suddenly started the fragile conversation on their first date, but he does not like it when Jongin thinks too much. The boy looks like he is contemplating about the matter and nobody wants a sullen partner on their eventful day.
So to cheer up Jongin's mood, the older decided to feed his ice cream to the young boy. Kyungsoo swiftly scoops the slowly melting confection with his spoon before nudging them to his boyfriend's lips delicately as to not surprise the other. "Jongin, say 'ah'!"
The brown-haired boy only grins in return before opening his mouth to taste the vanilla strawberry swirl ice cream of his partner's. The crescent eye smile is back on Jongin's face as he claims that the confection is sweet, but not as sweet as his mint chocolate chip ice cream which Kyungsoo beg to differ. The boy then reciprocates the older's effort by feeding his own treat to Kyungsoo where the florist couldn't deny the fact that mint tastes stronger than strawberry would, sadly. Jongin beams gleefully to the response.
After taking a selca with their ice-cream smeared spoons on their lips, they decide to walk around the park one more time to enjoy the late evening scenery, the sky is overwhelmed with crimson and amber-tinted clouds as the glorious sun hides on the horizon. Children are no more be seen running around as parents drag them to their safety confine of their homes, and street lamps emit light automatically along the park. Jongin takes the chance to properly hold Kyungsoo's hand in his, big palm hovers over the ivory, rough hand and he intertwines their fingers boldly since there are no witnesses to see their interaction.
Kyungsoo then drags his boyfriend towards the famous night street food stores next to the park where the mingling scent of delectable foods greets their sense of smell immediately, stomachs protesting in hunger. They instantly chuckle while walking down the busy street, pointing to various mouth-watering foods in display. Somehow, Jongin bought a plate of takoyaki and fish cake skewers while Kyungsoo has spicy rice cakes and sweet pancakes in his hold. Together they share their portions for dinner, once again feeding each other until they both are full.
"Hyung, I actually think that we should eat the ice creams after we were done with heavy meal instead," Jongin told Kyungsoo as they wash their hands and wiping their oily mouths in a public restroom. The older just smirks in response as he glances up to meet his boyfriend's eyes from the reflection of the mirror, "Well, blames on who wanted to buy ice cream in the first place." The boy only pouts and keep silent about the matter. As long as their stomachs are satisfied with the amount of food consumed.
Later on, when Jongin insists that they should go to a certain place with his and the older's hands clasped together, Kyungsoo watches the stars littered on the night sky with the companion of the full moon in wonder. The time seems to pass by slowly when the diamonds up the black atmosphere follow their tracks along the way to where they are heading to, and once Kyungsoo realises it, they are at the end of the town, right in front of inky forest that no one would willing to pass by at nights.
The older turns around to see his boyfriend held up his hand closer to the pink, plump lips and assuringly kiss the back of his hand tenderly. "Hyung, do you trust me?" Jongin asks his company in low voice.
Kyungsoo gulps down the lump in his throat when he meets the brown orbs that he falls in love with, reflecting the dim street light above them. He doesn't know what to expect beyond the dark boundary because he never went past the smooth pavement he is stepping to the rough, uneven surface of soil across his spot as he does not trust the concealed blackness. But there are emotions swirling in Jongin's almond eyes that convince the older in return; safety is the main priority of the situation and Kyungsoo put his faith up on his boyfriend as to not performing something reckless without preparation beforehand. There should be a reason to the young boy's doing and Jongin is never a boy who plays terrible prank especially to Kyungsoo, so the older bravely nods in response to the other.
The brown-haired boy gives his partner a persuading, confident smile before dragging Kyungsoo into the pitch-black surrounding, completely leaving the safety of the brightness on the street as they steadily walk straight to the direction of the forest. Jongin squeezes the older's hand tightly as to guide his boyfriend and to make sure that Kyungsoo won't lost his grip in the darkness, passing through tall, gigantic trees towering over their timid figures. The only noises that could be heard in the muteness of the night are the scrunches of branches and leaves beneath their shoes and Kyungsoo's shallow breaths.
The chill harshly digging into their skins through layers of clothes but neither of the couple minds as Jongin continues on walking without a hitch. Kyungsoo has the feeling that Jongin might already accustom to the untraceable path of the woods because the broad back of his boyfriend in the underlit environment oozed assertiveness and the howls of wind greet their hearing once in a while does not even faze the young boy as the older flinches in fright. Their clasped hands tighten itself as a prove that they are still in the presence of each other.
Kyungsoo does not know the duration of their journey but Jongin's low voice greets his ears in the still blackness.
"We are almost there," Jongin says breathlessly as the young boy tugs his boyfriend's hand closer, slowing his steps in the process. The older quietly ponders about the boy's words when his eyesight senses an oddly bright, illuminated spot beyond the obstructing trees.
The couple goes closer to the spot only for Kyungsoo to gasp in surprise.
There is an open land shone by the magnificent moonlight - night scented orchids, four o'clock flowers and moonflowers blooms radiantly under the full-blast gleams throughout the spacious floor of the forest and a waterfall cascading over the serene landscape, the clear crystal water drips upon the small lake littered with pink night blooming water lilies.
A paradise of the night, unhindered from the congestion of the busy town.
"Do you like it, hyung?" Jongin silently mutters as he wraps his hands around the shorter male's waist firmly from behind, sharp chin poking Kyungsoo's right shoulder. It is ticklish but Kyungsoo paid no heed as he is still captivated by the unexpected scene surrounded by the merciless black woods. How does Jongin find this place?
The young boy then softly pull his boyfriend to the edge of the lake before planting himself down the free flower spot, tugging Kyungsoo down next to him. The older does not utter a word yet but Jongin knows that he is fascinated by the night scenery, spatters of water over the surface of the rocks is the only sound echoing in the silence. No words are needed regarding the peaceful situation.
Jongin wordlessly stares at the older's stunned face as he silently maps the beauty features under the moonlight. Clean porcelain face morphed into astonishment, thick eyebrows scrunched in concentration, big owlish eyes strained over the water lilies, slightly gaping heart-shaped lips in awe and finely sculptured jaw complete the traits of Do Kyungsoo. The young boy would never get weary by staring at his boyfriend and if it is possible, Jongin would keep his eyes on Kyungsoo forever. He is the lucky person to have Kyungsoo for himself that he proudly calls as his boyfriend.
The couple falls in muteness for a moment as they are engrossed with the scene; Kyungsoo had his eyes over the breathtaking surrounding while Jongin maintains his gaze on his boyfriend's face. It is then Kyungsoo turns to meet the young boy's penetrating orbs that he asks, "How do you know about this place, Jongin?"
Holding his stare on the other male's features unwaveringly, the boy answers, "My mum had always brought me here when I was a kid so that I could witness the night-blooming flowers and until then, I always come here alone if I can't sleep. The sight is breathtaking that I don't want to go back home until the sun rises." Jongin chuckles lightly.
"But now, I won't come here alone because I have you as my company."
Kyungsoo's heart flutters upon hearing his young boyfriend's respond as blushes heavily decorate his face and ears, showcasing the soft hues under the nature brightness which Jongin never fails to pinpoint the difference. By then, the brown-haired boy decides to break his top most secret he has been pondering over a few hours ago.
"Kyungsoo-hyung, would you believe me if I said that I have magic?" Jongin pops up with the topic.
A frown immediately adorns the older's face as he processes Jongin's information. Magic?
"What kind of magic is that?" Kyungsoo is quick to ask back.
Jongin soundlessly grins in return as he gestures his boyfriend to come closer to his spot where he is sitting next to a budding moonflower. When the older is close enough, the boy cups the bud in his hands and a few seconds later, the bud blooms into a fully grown and beautiful moonflower, like the other flowers around. Least to say, Kyungsoo is appalled by the realisation.
His tall boyfriend is quick to explain, "I have the magic that could fasten the growth process of the flowers, as you can see. All I have to do is concentrating my energy to the blooms and they would respond to my aura by radiantly exposing their petals into delicate living thing. It does correspond to my strength of feelings and moods. If I am happy, my emotion would spread over the mortals around me and they instantly lighten up in response, vice versa to my sorrowful expression."
The older male digests the details in silence, eyes searching for Jongin's to confirm the information given. So the young boy possesses some kind of contagious magic that would affect others?
"Then Jongin, you say that your magic is transferable to every living thing? Even to me?" Kyungsoo ponders.
A nod is the response he received before Jongin continues, "It also applies to your products and co-workers too, hyung. You may or may not realised that the flowers in your shop never wilts until few days later because I am the one who manipulates their senses with my blissfulness over my frequent visits and the hyungs' mood also lighten up by my ability to control the magic. Which meant you are not excluded."
Now to think about that, Kyungsoo's mind rewinds back to the moment where he found that the perishable items managed to stay fresh for few days longer than usual before withered in nature. So the phenomena are caused by Jongin's super magic, he thinks.
"Won't you get upset over a thing and spoils the emotion around you, then?" The older interjects again with new question.
Jongin only smiles in return, the crescent eye smile forms itself on the youthful face as he replies, "I have once been upset about my friends' attitude toward me and least to say, they also felt my depression in which they make an effort to apologise to me. It's utter dispirit to everyone when I am down because negative feelings always overpower the strength of positivism. But for these time being, I never feel upset about anything."
Kyungsoo's thick eyebrows quirked in curiosity. "Why is that, Jongin?"
The boy retorts to shuffle closer to the older male, shoulders bumping as he stares deep into the owlish eyes. "Because you are my source of happiness. Whenever I see your delighted expression once I entered your store, it made my day brighter than sunlight would."
Jongin scoots an inch closer to Kyungsoo's face.
"Your bright, shiny eyes are enough for my magic to overflow in retaliation."
Another inch closer.
"Your calming and lovely peach scent comforts my heart down to the point of losing involuntary beats once in a while."
The distance between their faces are now merely separated by the bumps of their noses and Kyungsoo could feel the breeze of Jongin's breath over his lips.
"Your pink, kissable lips always forms the infamous heart-shaped smile that I always desire to steal it away from the people who gave you the joy."
Brief touches of soft pillow over his own as the pair of lips keep on whispering mesmerising words.
"Because I am the only one who can have the access to your euphoria."
The highlight of the night.
Jongin ultimately captures Kyungsoo's lips in a soft, gentle kiss.
Their first kiss.
They immediately flutter their eyes closed at the simple press of lips on each other, completely content in the rush of adrenaline flowing through their bodies, hearts beating simultaneously. Kyungsoo heaves a pleased sigh when Jongin decides to move his plump lips over his own in caution, the silent smacking sound echoing in their ears as they repeatedly smooch for a moment. It is then the older male lean forward to apply small pressure that has the younger boy starts to nibble on his lower tender flesh, sucking it into the wet heat of Jongin's mouth.
Kyungsoo inaudibly scrunches his eyebrows in response when Jongin gives his lips a harsh massaging treatment by the merciless teeth. The older male wraps his lithe arms around his boyfriend's broad back as to held himself back from the gradually increasing pressure being applied on his dully throbbing lips. The action has Jongin cradles his head lovingly before Kyungsoo feels delicate fingers carding through his midnight hair, mildly scraping his scalp in the process which had the older male's jaw hinges open in shock, a whimper on the back of the throat is detected by the young boy.
Jongin is quick to penetrate Kyungsoo's open mouth with his prodding tongue and the older does not even resist the wet appendage when their tongues meet in an erratic dance. Suckling sound is apparent in the quietness of the scenery and Kyungsoo finally lose his firm hold on his boyfriend's body once Jongin slowly pushing him down on the night flower bed until the back of the hand that cradles the short male's head meet the covered ground.
The couple does not even realise that they are out of breath when Jongin pulls away, the young boy supports himself on his elbows propped on each side of Kyungsoo's head with a string of saliva hanging from their mouths.
Neither of them cares about the crushed, blooming flowers underneath Kyungsoo when the moonlight shone gracefully upon the lovebirds' features.
Jongin carries an exquisite look with brown orbs dilating in observation to his boyfriend's traits beneath him. Kyungsoo's bangs are plastered on the sweaty forehead as he heavily panting with his chest rise up and down rhythmically, eyes clouded with something that electrified the young boy throughout his body and the swollen heart-shaped lips that look absolutely divine compared to the moment they ate ice cream that evening. He is the only one that could switch the sweet personality of Do Kyungsoo the florist into another extent of passion by the fruit of their relationship.
Meanwhile, Kyungsoo silently inspects the young boy's expression above him as the moonlight showcasing a brilliant halo along the circumference of Jongin's head. The hooded eyes penetrating his soul with fluffy hairs hanging down, purple sweater covered torso heaves in greedy amount of air and red throbbing plush lips resulted from their recent intimate action. Blood rushes down to a certain part of his body when Kyungsoo could pinpoint the telltale of 'more' judging by the erotic expression his boyfriend held.
Not wasting any time, the older male pulls down Jongin's head by grabbing the boy's nape to crash their lips harshly for the second time.
The night flowers and the full moon are the only witnesses of their developing relationship as the blooms slowly intertwine together to cover the couple's passionate forms in a concubine of secrecy, held in the middle of unhindered dark forest.
Kyungsoo and Jongin are the couple that is destined to walk down the path with radiant flowers trailing after their steps.
