I felt really bad for that girl (Cali) that ktastic_icons found hotlinking. I went over to her journal and it appears she is young and has no idea what hotlinking and stealing bandwidth means.

I am 31 years old and just learned what that stuff meant a few months ago, so I don't think it is fair to jump all over a kids case without nicely explaining it to her with a warning first. You have to remember that not everyone understands how this technology works or what the terminology means.

I know that I am probably going to get flamed for this because I know for every innocent kid who honestly didn't know what they were doing wrong there are ten people who do it on purpose. Ok, I understand that.

I just think that it would be nice if you know your graphics are being hotlinked - to ask the person to take them down within a reasonable amount of time before getting nasty with them and explain why, in case they honestly don't know what they've done wrong.
If they still don't listen, then by all means, IM them nastygrams, leave a rude comment in their journal, post warnings everywhere - go for it!
