So a student from my program killed themselves this week. And they haven't even sent out a fucking email or had a meeting about it or anything, and they already cleaned out his cubicle... and I usually really like the faculty here, but they are just handling this so so badly -- I mean there are only like 40 students here, we pretty much all know each other by name and we eat lunch together and have classes and work on research teams together and what, did they think we would not even notice that one of us was gone, that this nice, funny young man just left after class on Monday and never came back, that someone took down all his pictures of his family and dog and his pretty wife -- and didn't they even care enough to say something, anything at all, and fuck. fuck. fuck.
April 1 2:32 AM EDIT: They had a meeting today, turns out they were waiting to take him off life support before they told us. Also his family were the ones who cleaned out his desk. Just a bad situation.
