I don’t get why no one told me about the darkness, even if I know that you were trying to protect me where Kalika is concerned,” Malachi said.
“I’m supposed to name that kid,not you. No one took a bullet for you,” Rianna said quietly. “No, they didn’t. I told Uriel I’d fix the main reason why Agares and Lilith hate me,but Uriel said to fix every screw up. Agares wants to make sure that Kalika is never born and neither are half of the Bennetts, most of the Bakos and the De Lyncree family. It thinks it solves the cycle. Did Kalika tell you why she stood up to Lilith or that they’re on good terms again?” Malachi asked.
“Yes and no. We’re been to that island and I know Ethan and Hail have, too. We can’t save Sage or the boys because it’s not our fight or place. I don’t know details about Lilith past a point. The school is gone and the teachers, Jason and the others are dead,too.” Grace was worried and reassuring the others had been difficult.
“God,she’s right. This is bad and we really,really fucked up. Bold is with her and so is Tristan. Kalika wanted to stop this cycle so we didn’t have to keep repeating it. The darkness was coming,it had a reason for waking up and she knew that someone had to do it. Lilith really was angry with her, but Kalika chose to die and become a doll again so that it couldn’t feed and the war was over. Lucien is alive, but Lilith killed his brother. Guys, the past is already changing on its own and she and Marcus weren’t together. Some girl named Greta was in their way and Lex turned into a lovesick puppy. Varuk revived Bold so they could topple everyone’s power. Azra is with Lara and Morgan made sure her machine was never built, but it’s still not going to make that much of a dent. They did kill Varuk, though. He’s the main one who made Kalika and Bold,as well as the batch. Lara is absorbed every single experience and memory that didn’t need to involve Kalika. She also has her power,” Malachi said. He was overwhelmed and they needed to calculate the risks and the changes that happened already.
“Wow. Even in death,she’s a worker bee who cleans up our mess,” Rianna joked. “Oh, shut up. It really is your fault she died and she knew she couldn’t trust you. She and I have never argued that much,it was just hard to trust her because of her family’s nature. She used to please Lilith a lot,” Grace said as she glared at her.
“First things first-We have to avoid challenging Agares and we can’t split up. No interfering with Laia and Agares. I’ll lose Ethan and Hail by staying away,but I have a family. They’re going to vanish is Avara is never born,” Malachi said. “That’s so big of you. Even if Rianna and I caused it,Kalika went crazy and killed herself because she remembered the kids and you didn’t. I know it hurts, but Amara was good for you,” Grace said.
“I know,I just hated having to lie to her. It’s not worth the risks anymore and the world is about to end,” Malachi said with a sigh. “You have no idea how scared junior and the others are. I got him to his mom’s and Casey is staying there too,but The other kids have no idea what to do. Some went back home,but others are too scared to,” Rianna said. “Let’s go. I have no idea how things will play out if Kalika never gets her powers, but we can check on Lara afterwards,” Malachi said. He was worried,but Lara was a brave girl. She could handle having Kalika’s powers and Grace didn’t necessarily need them.
