Excitement ensues!
Okay! I am definitely going to be at CON, now. I have to thank a_jaclyn for letting me know that damncutekitty and lisianthia had lodging space available. Thank you! I met both those lovely ladies on Thursday night, and we got along well, so they are graciously adding me to their hotel-room-roster.
This is a huge relief. I've been able to really focus on my preparations, now. I've made two skirts. One is linen, from scratch, without a pattern (generally a dumb idea if you're as inexperienced as me, but it seems to have turned out pretty nicely). The other was a gauzy dress that I basically just cut the top off of and added a drawstring to. I'm planning to wear it to the Steampunk ball.
I've got plans to make a purse, although that may or may not come to fruition. I'm still about halfway through a lightweight knitted vest, which may or may not get done. And I have a few other ideas that I will try to complete.
Next weekend (Fri-Sun) I'll be staying at my mother's for SSP's annual Kaposia Days, so I'm trying hard to get all my crafting done before then. I am going to have to think really carefully about what I'm actually taking with me, as I currently have about six potential outfits. Nothing is too overtly Steamy, but I think it'll all fit well enough. But I really am going to have to edit the wardrobe down, otherwise I'm looking at some back-breaking luggage!
Possibly a day or two pre-CON I'll post some photos, maybe ask for input on how things look.
Anyway, I'm really, truly psyched as all get out to be going. I'm extremely grateful to everyone who's helped me figure out how to get to CON this year. And I'm looking forward to seeing all you CON-goers soon!

And one other brief note...I've been on a new diet the last month or so, and so far have lost 12 lbs. I'm pretty excited about that, too. Life is good!
