There was a no-hitter the other night! It was thrown by Carlos Zambrano, who was kind of due for one at some point. And it was caught by Soto, who wears the same number as Riou, so right now he and I are pretending that he caught it although he actually didn't. I think what's more important about that is that Soto still has rookie status and not too many rookies catch no-hitters. Either way, this makes two official ones this season (I got to watch the end of the first one at
1863_project 's house 'cause it was Jon Lester!) and the first one ever played in a neutral stadium ('cause of the hurricane).
Also,
the Brewers fired Ned Yost today. I wasn't expecting that at all, but that's yet another manager firing this season. There've been an awful lot of those lately, haven't there been? They really want to hang onto the Wild Card, and I guess this is what they think is going to help 'cause they've been losing a lot lately. I guess we'll know if it did by the end of the month, huh?
