It's the start of a new year! The kids are determined to gain some new club members, especially after Matt transferred schools. Did you forget who Matt is? Yeah, so did everyone else, MOVING ON. They soon realize that despite their second place in regionals, they didn't gain any notoriety at school. They perform, and catch the attention of two particular students: Sam Evans and Sunshine Corazon. One is more important than the other. Rachel runs into Sunshine in the bathroom, and attempts to get her to join Glee. And then Sunshine starts to sing and, hey, she's really good! Rachel realizes this, and having way too much competition in the club already, has a sing off with the girl that Sue interrupts. Rachel is determined not to have Sunshine join; she tries to get Kurt and Mercedes slushied in front of her to turn her off from the idea. They obviously object to the idea, and add that Sunshine would be a great addition to the team. Rachel is just OH FINE YOU WIN and then sends Sunshine to a crack house. In a move that surprises no one, Sunshine joins VA instead. So, yes, in the end Sam is the one who is more important considering we only see Sunshine for like two episodes after this.
Carl, Emma's dentist boyfriend, gives the Glee kids a checkup! It turns out that Rachel doesn't take care of her teeth correctly, she she has to get them cleaned by him. Artie and Brittany have to go as well, and Santana tags along because Carl is played by John Stamos. He also apparently has the best anesthesia in the world because it makes them all hallucinate Britney Spears. So, Finn wants to rejoin the football team and this worries Rachel; she doesn't believe that he'll stay with her if he's popular and she isn't. However, when Finn does rejoin the team, she was right with one part of her worries-- Finn does become more popular. Rachel then goes to school dressed in the infamous HIT ME BABY ONE MORE TIIIIME outfit in an effort to to gain ~*~popularity~*~, but she then (re)learns that dressing like that isn't her when Finn's feelings for her don't change.
Finn sees an image of Jesus in his grilled cheese sandwich. No, I am not making this up. No, I'm not sure why I watch this show either. This causes some tension between him and Rachel, since Rachel wants to to have two gay Jewish lawyer babies. Actually, just Jewish, but she'll be fine with all that other stuff too. Finn, however, is okay with that, and she actually lets him touch the side of her boobs as a reward! On a more serious note, Kurt's dad fell into a coma, and the kids all stand by Kurt and support him. He wakes up though!!
Will decides to have another competition in the club, and this time it's duets! The group pairs up with one another, and Rachel is obviously with Finn. Rachel notices that Sam isn't that confident about Glee, so she proposes to Finn that they lose the competition on purpose in order for Sam to win. She claims that it will give him a confidence boost, which will help bring the club closer together. Finn points out that she's technically not doing it just for Sam since the end result would (hopefully) be a nationals win. Anyway, she and Finn do a highly offensive performance that includes them singing about sex while dressed as a priest and a nun. Yes, that really happened. Sam and Quinn win the competition. Afterward, Rachel talks to Kurt who was pretty upset over things involving Sam. She comments that the two of them are more alike than he thinks, and he is horrified at the comparison. In the end, though, they sing a duet together and everything is cute.
After finding out that Emma loves The Rocky Horror Show, Will decides to have the club perform it! That is all I really have to say on this matter because underage kids doing Rocky is a terrible idea no matter what way you look at it. NEXT.
Will is sick, so Glee is left adviserless for a couple of days. Rachel happily decides to take charge while he's gone, and asks the club what will they like for her to sing at sectionals. Look at her, so considerate! Santana reacts by trying to claw her face off. The Spanish substitute, Holly Holiday, decides to fill in for Will for Glee. You get points if you remembered that Will teaches something other than Glee club cause I sure didn't. Holly is essentially the kind of sub that every student loves; she gives no fucks. Rachel is scandalized because show choir is serious business, but Holly wins her over with a performance from Chicago. Hell, the kids like her so much that they actually want her to replace Will, which Holly readily accepts. However, she comes to realize that she's not ready to be a full time teacher, and Will comes back to Glee.
Rachel is tired of all the football players picking on Kurt! So she gets all the Glee girls with football player boyfriends together, and they plan to get the guys to defend Kurt. Finn tells her no, though, since he doesn't want to lose his quarterback position. In other news, Kurt and Finn's parents are getting married! They have a beautiful ceremony that includes, of course, singing and dancing. It actually seems like everything is going to end happily ever after. Notice how I said seems like? Karofsky was expelled by Sue (she's a principal now, principals are cool) sometime earlier because of he made a death threat to Kurt. BUT his expulsion doesn't go through, and he is allowed to return to school. Kurt leaves McKinley to attend Dalton Academy instead. Later on, Puck gets a girl named Lauren Zizes to join the club in place of him.
This is where shit gets real. Will follows advice from Emma and he gives the sectionals ballad to Quinn and Sam. Rachel is, of course, pissed off about this. Santana, annoyed, finally announces that she and Finn had sex. The next day, Rachel attends rehearsal with tape over her mouth as a way to protest, and Will pretty much tells her to get over herself. A little bit later, Kurt visits the school and tells Rachel that he's auditioning for a solo for the Warblers. Despite the fact that she has been acting like a hopeless wreck since all the trouble began, she happily helps Kurt prepare. He doesn't get it. THEN IT'S TIME FOR SECTIONALS. It's basically a disaster behind the scenes, with all the kids fighting with each other and refusing to be in the same room with so-and-so. Will gets them to shape up, though, and they perform brilliantly! They tie with the Warblers, and both are able to move onto regionals. Everything seems like it'll be a-okay.
Except then Rachel goes to Finn, saying that she forgives him. This seems all fine and dandy until she comes clean as well. She was so angry at Finn having sex with Santana, that she then went and made out with Puck. Actually, Puck was the one who made them stop because he didn't want to hurt Finn again. So with this out in the open, Rachel claims that they're now even and everything can go back to being sunshine and rainbows again! Let's point out all the things wrong with this situation. A) Finn had sex with Santana when he and Rachel were not together. B) Rachel, however, was still together with Finn which means that she cheated. C) Finn already has issues with cheating considering that Quinn did it to him. D) RACHEL CHEATED ON FINN WITH THE SAME GUY THAT QUINN CHEATED WITH WHAT THE HELL. Finn then breaks up with her and leaves.
And so begins Rachel's crazy attempts with making things okay again with Finn. Because serenading always works, Rachel sets up the auditorium to be a romantic winter wonderland for the two of them. Finn sees it, is promptly horrified, and leaves. SAD RACHEL IN FAKE SNOW. Anyway so Sue ruins all the club's Christmas decorations because she can. Actually no, Sue, you can't, that's illegal. Rachel gets Finn to go with her to buy a replacement Christmas tree, and while there they duet! And kiss. But then Finn rejects her, officially breaking up with her FOR REEEEAAAAL, and leaving her to walk home. Harsh. Later, the kids all break into Will's apartment to celebrate Christmas with him and it's very touching. STILL ILLEGAL, GUYS. Also I just want to point out here that Rachel apparently forgot that she's Jewish.
So the Glee club members who are on the football team are having a difficult time getting along with the other football people. You know, with the whole chasing Kurt away to another school thing. In order to fix relations, Shannon Beiste (the new football coach) and Will come up with an idea to have them both perform together at the halftime show. While the football guys were fine with just practicing, they refused to go out on the field and perform in front of people, which makes Beiste kick them off the team unless they do the halftime show. Considering that you can't play football with only four guys, Rachel gets the bright idea that the Glee girls should help! And they join the team. Seriously. Thankfully before they could all get too murdered (for a minute everyone thinks that Tina died horribly in a tackle) the jocks rejoin the team.
Valentine's Day is nearing, and Rachel is still crazy about getting Finn back. He starts a kissing booth to raise money for the club just kidding he just wants to kiss Quinn but Rachel sees this as an OPPORTUNITY!! Since each kiss is worth one dollar, she actually brings a hundred dollar bill to school so he can kiss her a hundred times and fall in love with her again! And Finn cockblocks her. He then gives her a necklace that he had bought for her for Christmas, and due to obvious reasons never got to give it to her. Anyway, under Sam's supervision Quinn and Finn do kiss and they see ~*~fireworks~*~ kyaaaa. Santana, who earlier had the club call her out on her bitchiness, decides to get back at them by exposing Quinn and Finn. She gives Finn mono at the kissing booth, so later on when the couple go to be naughty together, he would pass it on to Quinn. Her plan works, they both get mono, and everyone knows that Quinn is cheating on Sam with Finn. Cue a heartbroken Rachel.
With Finn macking on Quinn, Rachel decides that boys suck and that she will become a lesbian and have fun times with Britt and Santana. No, wait, that's a lie, she just quits guys. Yeah right. She goes back to worrying about ~*~being popular~*~ so she pays Britt money to dress like her! And it works because everyone starts dressing that way as well! Except for the part where they all think it was Britt's idea despite the fact that Rachel always dressed in the "toddler grandma" style. Meanwhile, Sue rejoined the club and she's back to her trying to tear them apart from the inside tactic. She gets Mercedes and Rachel against each other and they do a diva off, but they have so much fun singing that they can't stay mad at each other. With that out of the way, Rachel shares with the club her new idea-- original songs! And everyone thinks it's dumb. Finn, though, likes it and while she wants to write one together, he tells her that it's better if she does it herself because that's what will make it awesome. And then she smiles and we know that she will never be over Finn.
Rachel's two gay Jewish lawyer dads are away for a night, and Rachel decides to hold a little get together at her place! And since this is a show about teenagers, that means that it turns into a party and all the ND kids + Kurt and Blaine Anderson (Kurt's love interest from Dalton) get really drunk. During a game of spin the bottle, Rachel and Blaine share a really passionate kiss. Kurt is not impressed. However, this leads to Blaine questioning his sexuality and Rachel deciding that Blaine is her one true love. While cleaning afterward, Kurt confronts Rachel about the whole situation, and her response is pretty much just
this. Kurt remains not impressed. Moving on, the alcohol fiasco makes the kids believe that drinking is the best thing ever!! And in a beautiful ironic twist, the principal has them do a performance in front of the school to show how alcohol is bad. And they do said performance while drunk. To make it even more beautiful, it ends with Brittany vomiting on Rachel's face, and-- yeah I don't need to say anymore. The principal, however, thinks that was all fake and tells them that they did an awesome job! Back to the Blaine situation, he and Rachel share a kiss while he's sober. Blaine realizes that he really is gay, and Kurt can't even go I TOLD YOU SO to Rachel because she thinks this was the best thing ever. She runs off to write a song about being in love with a gay guy. Only you, Rach.
It's time for regionals! Rachel is still hellbent on using an original song, and she sings an amazing one to Finn. And by amazing I mean it was only slightly better than My Headband. Quinn spots this, and decides that the only way to stop them from getting too cozy is to do the whole keep your enemies closer thing. So when Rachel puts up the proposal of doing an original song, the kids all disagree until Quinn supports her. The two girls then try to come up with one together! But then Rachel finds out how Quinn really feels about the matter, and confronts her about it. They both fight, with Quinn telling Rachel to give up since she's the one with Finn. Rachel claims that it's not over between her and Finn, which makes Quinn snap. This then leads to Rachel writing a song about the situation which they sing at regionals. They win, and are able to move onto nationals! After the competition, the club present Rachel with a MVP award, and Rachel admits that all she ever wanted was for them to like her. Happy end! Sort of!
Another club that some of the Glee members are in need money to go to a competition. In order to help, they decide to hold a concert to hopefully raise money. Sunshine magically appears, saying that she'll help them with their cause, and that she has 35935893753 twitter followers who would all go if she told them to. Rachel doesn't trust Sunshine, but the other kids say yes. Meanwhile, Rachel butts heads with Mercedes over who gets the final song in the concert. With Lauren's help, Mercedes turns into ~*~QUEEN DIVA~*~ and drives everyone crazy with her demands. On the night of the show, Sunshine doesn't arrive which makes their audience a total of six people. Who are all hecklers and Kurt. Rachel and Mercedes overcome their differences, and the latter gets the final song. Even more, one of the hecklers donates a ton of money to them because of her performance! So yay, good end.
While practicing some dance moves, Finn accidentally FALCON PAUNCHHHHes Rachel in the face and breaks her nose. The doctor tells her that she should look into having a nose job because the break would make it easier. She considers this, and decides that she would like to have Quinn's nose because it's cute I... guess?? Anyway, Kurt returns to ND and he, along with the other Glee club members, help Rachel realize that she's perfect the way she is-- big nose and all.
Later, Rachel is veeerrrry suspicious about Quinn. Again. She believes that she is cheating on Finn with Sam because of gossip, so she and Finn do a stakeout in front of a motel where the pair are rumored to have been seen. While they do see Sam there, it's not Quinn who he's with-- it's Kurt. Rachel is still convinced that Quinn is being unfaithful, so the two do another stakeout. This time they do spot Quinn there as well. The next day at Glee, Rachel basically serenades Finn which Quinn objects to. Rachel snaps, calling Quinn a dirty cheater, and the entire club turn on Sam. They yell at him for having sex with both Kurt and Quinn who are both in relationships, and eventually Sam admits that he lives in the motel; his family lost their house, and Kurt and Quinn were simply helping him since they both knew the truth. Rachel and Finn then visit Sam at the motel and apologize for their behavior.
Soooo it's prom time! Rachel, Mercedes, and Sam all decide to go together because they are otherwise dateless. And then they go to prom and it's drama free and everyone is happy! Just kidding, this is Glee. So Rachel is practicing in the auditorium, and then out of goddamn nowhere, Jesse appears. After a very cute duet, Jesse apologizes to Rachel and then asks her out to prom. And so he joins her and the other two! SHOCKINGLY, Finn is not happy about this. Anyway, so everyone is at prom and is having a good time! Rachel is dancing with Jesse who is necking her and I just had to mention that because it makes me smile like an idiot. After seeing this, Finn cockblocks and the two guys get into a fight which leads to them getting kicked out of prom. Quinn is not happy about this. Even more, it turns out that the student body is made up of bigger douchebags than we thought, because they all voted for Kurt to become prom queen! So Quinn is even more not happy and runs out, and Rachel follows her. Quinn then slaps a ho, apologizes, and the two bond. They then go back to the prom to support Kurt.
Jesse becomes ND's consultant! Which is something that only Will and Rachel is excited for because the rest of the club is still stuck on HE MADE BREAKFAST ON YOUR HEAD. Will follows Jesse's advice and decides that their performance for nationals will be based around one particular singer in their group. He does auditions for that spot, which Santana, Kurt, Mercedes, and Rachel all sign up for. In short, Jesse is an asshole to all of them except Rachel. In the end, though, Will decides that this way of performing just wasn't their style, and doesn't pick a winner. Also Finn dumps Quinn whoops.
AND THEN THEY WENT TO NEW YORK. Rachel is off to a good start after buying the club tickets to see Cats on Broadway! Which Quinn points out that it already ended, and Rachel remarks that it was weird that the guy who sold it to her swiped her credit card in his butt crack. After a fun montage of the kids exploring New York, Finn takes Rachel on a date where they meet Patti LuPone (this is funny because of the mom thing) and have various other cute shenanigans. But when he goes in for a kiss, Rachel rejects it before running off. Later, Kurt kidnaps Rachel to have breakfast at Tiffany's (squee!) and she admits that moving to New York is her dream, but she's not sure what to do because of Finn. Kurt immediately knows what to do-- they go to the theater where Wicked is performed, and they both sing a duet on stage. It helps Rachel realize that while she does truly love Finn, her dreams are bigger than he is. Moving on, it's time to perform at nationals! Rachel runs into Sunshine in the bathroom, and after a conversation, they both put away their differences (said differences being a crack house) and make up. Right before it's their turn to go on stage, Rachel tells Finn her decision, saying that there is nothing that he can do to change her mind. He reacts appropriately.
After finishing their song, Finn kisses her for like five minutes on stage. The crowd is, unsurprisingly, really shocked! After their performance, Jesse tells Finn that he most likely cost them their chance of winning. Finn replies with SHUT UP JESSE YOU'RE JEALOUS or something like that buuuut it turns out he was right. They didn't even place. So the kids go back home to Lima and try their best not to cry or, in Santana's case, murder Rachel. After a nice little chat in the library, Finn says that they still have another year left before they graduate, so he's okay with being Rachel's boyfriend until she goes off to accomplish her dreams in New York. And so they go to the final club meeting, hand in hand, and that's the end of the season.
Personality:
Rachel is a diva. While at first she did have a giant case of the IT'S ALL ABOUT MEEEEEE syndrome, she has chilled out somewhat over time although some of the writers seem to forget about this every few episodes fuck you guys. While she still desires to be ~*~THE STAR~*~, Rachel's more willing to share the spotlight with others, and the rest of the club occasionally like her because of this! Although at this point in the series they do generally like her, but she continues annoys them to death. But, like I said, she's still a diva, and she's very determined to make it into the world of showbiz. In her own words, she's willing to do anything short of getting naked and exploiting animals in order to become a star. She likes to take charge! She makes plans! She writes horrible original songs about headbands and being an only child! So, yeah, she generally has cone-vision for matters regarding achieving fame and glory, but in the end she is able to see the whole picture. Sometimes it just takes longer for this to happen.
Her default setting is normally quite chipper and happy, and she always walks around with a smile on her face. She's extremely optimistic about herself and her future, especially when it relates to other people. Kinda like how she assumed that the people in Glee were her friends because they were, well, in Glee. And then they told her otherwise. Her peppiness is actually one of her characteristics that people find obnoxious. She's overbearing, and very opinionated. If she finds a flaw in something you did, especially if it's singing, she will point it out. While she has gotten better at making her criticisms sound nicer, they're... still criticisms. She has gotten less nitpitcky about it though! Well, less nitpicky about it out loud.
She also has weird self esteem. While she has full confidence in her singing abilities, everything else is... not so much. Like pretty much everyone in the Glee club, she has a burning desire to become popular! A desire that has, in fact, screwed her over many times before. She also frequently compares herself to other girls in terms of looks, the main one being Quinn. This is either because she just finds Quinn really pretty in general, or because Quinn is her main opponent when it comes to Finn's affections for the most part. But yeah, this got so bad that, like stated earlier in the app, she almost got a nose job because of it! Although this seems to flip flop a lot, cause at other times she says that she's okay with her appearance and that others should be too idk Rachel's weird. Also she's a teenager, and they're all awkward with that sort of thing.
Another thing about her is her uh. Love life. There is a very good reason I picked this for her username guys. First off, unless you're a girl or Kurt, if Rachel duets with you then she will most likely instantly fall in love with you. Or just date for a little while, in Puck's case. Finding love is very important to her! When she likes someone, she will go to extreme lengths in order to win over their affection. It's kind of like she's a stalker in training. In most cases she does get over this, but in others she... does not coughfinncough. BUT! In the end, her dreams are still bigger than love, so no matter how crazy obsessed she can get over a boy, she won't let them get in the way of becoming a star. It's just kind of hard to tell sometimes.
While she is usually the one who comes up with ideas for the club, and is excellent at rallying everyone together to do something, Rachel can be very uh. Rash. If she gets way too overemotional over something, she'll do something without thinking about the consequences at all. While she does this in little ways throughout the series, the most obvious ones are cheating on Finn because of the Santana thing and sending Sunshine to a crack house. But despite the fact that Rachel can be kind of a bitch at time, she actually forgives people pretty easily! Like Jesse, who broke her heart, for example. Just one duet and conversation later, he was her prom date! Or like the people from the Cheerios or football team who basically made her life a living hell before and while in Glee club, but she considers them all her best friends! Well. Only friends. She just wants friends guys. Friends and love and Broadway. Those three things are honestly the driving factors in every single thing she does, no matter how weird or crazy it is.

[ the feed opens up to a view of a very distraught looking girl. You can just feel the emotion radiating from her; all that fear, that loneliness, that heartbreak. It is the view of a girl who had just lost everything.
there's a moment of silence before she breaks into a smile. ]
Hello, Thor. I was wondering if there was a sort of arts program aboard? From what I've heard, the ship operates like a city so I figured that there's bound to be something like Broadway somewhere.
[ there's a pause as she considers something. These people are aliens! They can't have any idea what Broadway is, gosh she's so silly. She then says very slowly: ]
Brrrroaaadwaaayyyyy. Things like plays, and musicals, and opera! See, it's been my dream since I was four years old to be on that stage. And apparently now it's... not there anymore. So I need to find an equivalent stat to put all my hopes and dreams into so that everything I've worked for my entire life won't be a huge waste. All those years of ballet recitals, acting lessons, having to buy new clothes because the stain of slushie doesn't wash out after a while...
[ there's another pause, longer now. She lets out a breath, and then the smile's back.]
If my dads, or anyone from Glee club, are here, please contact me immediately. We have work to do.
3rd person sample:
Rachel had always known that achieving her dreams would be no easy matter. While she anticipated obstacles such as sabotage or evil twins (like in the movies) blocking her path, the world being destroyed was definitely not on her list. Or, at least, it wasn't particularly high on it. Professionals are prepared for everything, after all, and she already had a list of songs prepared in case of the apocalypse.
But being on a ship full of aliens? No, she definitely wasn't ready for this. She was devastated, of course; who wouldn't be after finding out that everything you ever loved was now a distant memory? After having the Vogon clearly explain (around twenty-seven times) that there was a high probability that if the people she knew weren't on this ship that they were on another, Rachel did calm down. While being separated for them was awful, she could now concentrate on other things until they simply arrived on Thor. It was time to get organized. She sifted through the list of space related songs she had jotted down on the back of one of the forms. Ones such as Space Oddity, The Final Countdown, and Rocket Man were pretty obvious, but she was never one to argue with a classic.
So with the determination that could rival a lioness' as it hunted for prey, Rachel set up her equipment. From what she figured out about the Guide, it worked kind of like the internet only it sucked more. She found the spaceship's equivalent of YouTube, and began her work.
"Hello, I'm Rachel Berry, and I'm going to sing you something!"
She sung her heart out into that video feed. Every note was hit perfectly. Her voice caressed each lyric, filling it with raw emotion. It was a masterpiece, if Rachel could say so herself. Which she did, in fact, say. A lot. Right in the video, even. Once she was done, she proudly uploaded the finished piece. Things were going to be different this time. She would finally receive the recognition that she rightfully deserved, and more. Rachel was going to be a star.
That night, she checked the comments of her video.
'TITS OR GTFO'
It was hard being a diva. It was hard and nobody understood.
Questions?: Not a question, but I imagine that every time I write an app you guys just go OH GODDAMMIT FRANCY STOP RAMBLING SO MUCH YOU DON'T MAKE ANY SENSE GOD.
Did you put your characters name and fandom in the subject: NO WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT HUH?? HUH???????
I mean Y I did.
