Basic Vanity

May 27, 2005 13:06

You are Misery,
You darken all the should be pleasant to me,
Leaving me just like you,
Without joy,
Without hope.

You are beauty,
You wink and promise my your body,
Yet it only a rouse,
When it comes time to satisfy,
You only leave my empty-handed,
And bruised.

You are desire to its core,
You tease me with whispers of what you can do,
Yet in the end I am again the fool,
Left with only half-awake fantasies,
Nothing like the truth.
