Good stuff on patience and God's will...very rockin.
"If we let it, waiting helps us grow in faith, because it challenges us to trust the Lord. Because God is a perfect and righteous God, we can trust that the way He deals with us is for the best. So are we going to trust the plans He has for us? Can we trust that those plans are indeed for our welfare and not for our calamity, that they are to give us a future and a hope (Jer. 29:11)?
As we wait, God's will also becomes more clear to us. We can submit to His lordship and eventually accept His will as right. I say eventually because I hate it when Christians say, 'It must be God's will' and sound all cheery about it, when deep inside they're so angry they could spit. Why do we think we have to put a happy face on everything when we're disappointed? We're not fooling God and we're certainly not fooling our friends. We're only fooling ourselves. Getting over disappointment takes time. If we're struggling with God's will, let's come out and say it. Only then can we grow in faith. Only then will we realize that God's timing is for the best. Only then will we be able to honestly say, 'Not as I will, but as you will' (Matt. 26:39). If you're struggling with disappointment, put what little faith you can muster in God. He is faithful, and He will give you the strength you need (Isa. 41:10). Authentic submission to God's will is a sign of character. It's part of the work God does in our hearts during those times when He's telling us to wait." -Rory Noland, The Heart of the Artist-
