Open Action [Tea Shop--Back dated to yesterday]

Apr 11, 2011 04:27

[Lately Aang had been doing a lot of thinking. Some of the thoughts that crossed his mind were surprising and he wasn't sure how he felt about them just yet. Or if the thoughts and the feelings he had that went on along with them were genuine or just a result of all of the confusion he was feeling ( Read more... )

[Iroh sat at a table in the shop, nursing a cup of tea. Business was still slow after the harpy attacks, and the shop was well nigh empty, which he was almost grateful for. It gave him time to think about the encounter with Zuko that morning.]

[Before Aang even picks out a table to sit at, he spots Katara. This must be some sort of act of fate. She's one of the people he's been thinking so intently about and here she is in front of him!

Walks over to her and sits down next to her at the table.]

Katara, hey!

[Iroh is so lost in his thoughts, he doesn't notice Aang straight away. The sound of the boy's voice catches his attention, but not the specific word.]

Hello Aang! What brings you here?

I wanted to get some tea to help me sort out some stuff, but now that you're here I don't think I need it any more.

[Takes a deep breath. He's been here for a few months now. His feelings for her are still there but he's starting to accept that how things are back home won't happen here. If he keeps pushing for it, it will only complicate things and push them apart.]

Would you mind going on a walk with me?

[Oblivous Iroh is oblivious. He smiles and stands.]

Of course! Where would you like to go?

Let's go to the park. [Offer her his hand to help her up from her seat.]

[The offering of the hand reminds Iroh that he's in another's body.

He contemplates telling Aang... but a sudden mischief keeps him silent.]

That sounds lovely.

[If Aang wasn't so lost in his own thoughts, he would probably notice that Katara is a little off. Instead he helps her up onto her feet and holds the door for her on their way out.]

Oh! There's a playground not that far from there, we should go there too!

[Focus, Aang. Focus. Serious business talk! But...swings are very tempting.]

[Swings! And for the first time in a long time, Iroh is in a body young enough to appreciate them.]

The playground sounds like fun!

[Aang's quiet for most of the walk. Every now and then he adds in a few words to make small talk, but he's lost in his head. When they arrive at the playground, he's pinged to the swings.

He's not sure why he feels like he's been there before but for some reason he feels drawn to them.]

I'll push you if you want me to, Katara.

[Iroh does his best to keep up the pleasant flow of conversation, but he's grateful when they get to the park.]

Sure!

[Off to the swings they go and once she is settled in, he starts to push her.]

Hey Katara, can we--we need to talk. Or at least, I need to talk to you.

[GOSSIP! Iroh loves gossip. What does Aang have to say, he wonders.]

What is it, Aang?

It's about everything that's been going on between us or I guess that hasn't gone on between us. There's something that I have to tell you, something that I probably should have told you awhile ago. I don't expect it to change anything, I've realized at this point it would be selfish of me to want to do that. But I just...want you to know.

[Shifts his weight from one foot to the other, working out some of his nervous energy.]

You don't have to say anything, it's probably better that you don't or else I'll probably want to back out of saying it.
