I know...it's been a while. I guess I haven't been in a writing mood lately. But anyway...an update on my life:
I went to the Ocoee river this weekend and it appears that I am going to be working for High Country as a guide this summer. I met the guys that I will be working with and they are ridiculous. Meg said it was like boy camp every day there and I am completely ok with that. Within 20 minutes of being there, I already had a nickname...'bootleg jen.' I'm pretty into it. It's got a nice ring to it. Meg and I spent the night there friday and went to watch some boaters this morning before we went down the river ourselves. I will more than likely move to the outpost for the summer and work part time at the AE there while not on the river. It's going to be nice to live a more secluded simplistic life for the summer. Not to mention the cash flow.
After being on the river all weekend I went to see the lovely Big Rig play in Cleveland. Wooooo, yeah. Love those guys. They also played with MRIR so I got to catch up with those guys too. Stoked.
My life has changed alot. My views on most things have changed...especially my view of myself. The world and certain people in it need to know that it's time for me to move on. I have let myself heal where it was needed and I am ready to set sail myself rather than (metaphorically speaking, of course) watching everyone else leave, watching them grow, wishing them luck and simply waiting for the to come back...none of that. Because of this mindset, I have found that I am much less rude and cynical towards people. I think the old and kind Jen from summer of 2004 might be back in action. At least a kinder heart is what I am aiming for.
In other news, I happened to see the best show I have ever seen this past week. Brand New and Manchester Orchestra played in Atlanta and if they happen to be coming near you soon I urge you to go. You will have a borderline orgasmic experience while watching these incredible musicians perform.
And in case you have been wondering...Bootleg Jen is single. I'm not really looking, though. But I have warmed up to the thought of moving on which is a step and a half for me.
Tomorrow: Nashville Zoo or something like that with Cody Richardson and Aaron Free. Stoked.
That's all for now.
