More evening adventures!

Today was a much better day. Sarah came home while I was making dinner. She bought some new stuff from IKEA (mostly a lamp and some new dishes) but since she forgot that she was going to help me hook up my cell phone she gave me some really cool candles. Then since she had bought the wrong bulb for the lamp she had to go to the store for one, plus she was going to buy a Kopfkissen (pillow). She said I could go with her. A real adventure!
Then things started to get quirky. Sarah seems to know practically everyone so we started talking to a girl at the bus stop. Somehow the bus never came and we had to wait for the next one. I got to talk to the girl (Anika) and we all laughed about Hilter and other such humorous topics. Then these other two people came along and Sarah knew one of them so we started talking to them too. Apparently they were on their way to a theater rehearsal and then proceeded to act out nearly an entire scene at the bus stop! It was an unforgetable moment. They were really good, too.
Then it was non-stop excitement. At the next bus stop, the bus inexplicably turned off. We all waited in the sudden quiet darkness and wondered. I never realized just how loud buses are. The noise really prevents people from talking. Anyway, it started again with as much explanation and we were on our way.
We reached the store and came across a "wunderschoene Maschine" (wonder-beautiful Machine). You just put your produce on the scale (in this case bananas) and press the corresponding button. Then it prints out a sticker with that price! It was so cool! Sarah thought it was hilarious that I was so amazed. But, come on! I'd never seen one like that before in my whole life! The coop back home really should look into getting one. I would buy a sorts of unnecessary fruit just to watch the Machine work!
Unfortunately they had run out of pillows (Sarah was very sad) but we found some other things, including a Steckdose (hmmm? what is this in english? it's that thing you plug in and then you can plug in a bunch of things in one electrical outlet), Spulmittel (dish soap) and paper towels.
When we got home Sarah and I traded methods of eating an avocado (hers: add lemon, salt and pepper and scoop out with a spoon, mine: slice and eat on a wasa cracker with cream cheese and tomato). And she told me all about the movie she had just seen: The Children of Men. She said it was hard to watch.
Anyway, if that isn't an adventure I don't know what is!

Check out all my new candles! I'm so excited!
