Party Loewe

hey everybody,

well, this week has been fun. way more fun that last week which consisted of laying in bed and being sick. on tuesday i hosted a small get-together. i made burgers, fries and caesar salad.* i was a little worried that it would be awkward since my roommates didn't know my other two friends very well. however, it was not a problem at all. if anything, they did all the talking and i was the quiet one! i showed them my lj and they thought it was hilarious. adam was like "oh, this is what you do in your room for hours!" (except in german). which, embarrassingly enough, is somewhat true. however, i can't disappoint my adoring fans now can i?
anyway, here are some pics:

they're called "hamburgers" (i.e. from Hamburg) but somehow everyone associates them America. good ol' German immigrants

so much work, gone so quickly

this pic goes out to the burger man

no college party would be complete without a little...

verena brought me a little christmas

my german friends!!!

a czech and his beer; two things which are never very far apart

why is the flash not working?

opps, there it goes

now we're ready!

well, that's all folks!

*for those interested in culinary delights this is a gross oversimplification of what was actually served. as toppings for the burgers we had: a choice of gouda, old amsterdam or emmentaler cheese, romaine lettuce, tomatoes, onions, avocado, satueed garlic mushrooms, ketchup and whole grain mustard. we also had both sweet potato fries and (because europeans aren't accustomed to eating sweet potatoes) baby potatoes covered with butter and rosemary. clementines and marzipan followed as dessert. needless to say it took me about four hours to clean the kitchen and prepare all the food. slightly ridiculous and overdone but it's not something you do every day! hopefully these europeans are a little more impressed with american cuisine now!
