THREAD HEADS: Sweeney Todd, Colleen Atwood, Victorian Trash
I was wrapped to find a selection of Colleen Atwood behind the scenes vids on youtube.......she rocks! (She gets my Fav costume designer along with Eiko Ishioka). If you dont know who she is:- well! fantastic costume designer for a start, she has Edward Scissorhands, Lemony Snicket's, Sleepy Hollow, Chicago and Memoirs of a Geisha under her belt (and I'm only naming a few here, the list is long).
From what Ive read she had a child and married young (while she was still at high school), she was separated by the age of 21 and with a child to support on her own, she had no alternative but to leave college and take a sales job. In due course she moved to New York to study Art (her first passion), from there she took her first job in the industry as an assistant costume designer - and the rest is history as they say!!
In ref to her personal life/personal nature away from film, people have noted her to be particularly reserved with comments like 'simple' and 'peaceful' reflecting her relationship to her own environment and those she is closest to.
