                                              BRIAN'S E-MAIL

Brad,

Sorry it took so long to get  back to you.  I don't check my e-mail very often and also wanted to take time to think about your e-mail.

I don't think there is anything wrong to have mostly female friends. I knew of several guys that liked to hang out with girls, and they were picked ( Read more... )

imo you need a man (a father) to love you, but not romantically. It's a need to be loved, and as you grow up into manhood, seeing good examples of men is great to attach to, and it seems that you don't have the best scenario at home to help that natural desire. I was very jaded and secluded from my father (literally I would be pulled away at times) until we left a cult, and I had a need that definitely needed to be filled. Thankfully we left the cult and I could actually get to know my father. Just take some time each day to talk to a grown man that you admire. It will help you sort out some of these feelings, as most of us went through varying levels of this stuff in our teens in the first place. :)

I just want to get out of this life...this house and this family....I am forced to depeend on my friends as the people to lean on...to cry with to tell my deepest thoughts....I am just so tired...of being in this place...I pray every night to get out of this place...but my ride has yet to arrive...

well, a lot of people have pretty bad home lives. So having to depend on your friends really isn't bad. They're there to be your second family.

Dang son, I hope you can find something you can enjoy within your current situation. Perhaps have a get-together with some of your friends at a place outside your house as a typical weekly event?

God allows these things in our lives to strengthen us once we're through. Persevere and the rewards are in this life and the next. See James 1.
