A sly, wolfish smile makes it's way across her face.

"Oh I get it. It's Light's birthday in a bit, right?"

She smiles and chuckles in her throat. It's now obvious that Light didn't just start to make those expressions.

"You're a good kid, y'know that? Did Light-o teach you how to fight yet?"

She nods. Wow. This was awkwatd.

"So...how'd you meet bossman anyway?"

Through my mother. Why do you ask?

"Just was curious."

I'd happily disagree with the statement that you were "Just curious"

*He even does the air quotes.*

She grins cheekily. It was one of Light's grins.

"Caught me. It's just, Light's taken in kids before. However, only four, including yourself, are the only ones he's ever called his own."

*He really doesn't want to hear this.*

Oh really? Then I gess he won't be needing this, then.

*He takes the half wrapped present and tosses it into the trash can.*

She quirks her brow.

"Hey now! That's something to be proud of. That means that out of twenty something people that he saved, you're the one he calls his son. And, when you realize that the other three special kids were his sister, his cousin, and an in-law, you've got it pretty good."
