“I’m seeing someone,” Willow said awkwardly, smiling as she walked towards Angel for a goodbye.
Fred stood confused for a few moments, ‘did she want me to congratulate her or somthin’?’ she wondered as she watched the woman walk away. “Why'd she say it like that?”
Wes and Gunn moved into form beside her as they waved goodbye to the redhead.
“Oh don’t be trying to hide nothin’,” Gunn said playfully nudging Fred with his elbow.
“What? I’m not hiding nothin’, I mean anything.” Fred replied.
“You two danced around each other all night,” Gunn stated, “even Wes picked up on the vibe you two were pumping out.”
Wes looked up with a puzzled expression on his face. “Noticed what?”
Gunn rolled his eyes, “right, I didn’t think that through, but any aware person would have caught it.”
“Caught what?” Both Wes and Fred said at the same time, both waiting to be filled in.
Gunn crossed his arms, “You mean you really don’t know?” he directed at Fred, continuing before she could answer, “You and Miss Red were sending signals like nothing else!”
Gunn looked to the two blank faces in front of him and decided it was time to cut to the basics or they would be standing in the lobby all night.
“You,” he said pointing to Fred, “and witch girl,” pointing to the doors she had left by, “where flirting!”
“No, no,” Wes denied shaking his head, “Willow isn’t…” he stopped to think for a minute, “She couldn’t be… could she?”
“That’s right sparky,” Gunn confirmed cheekily.
“You mean she was…” Fred paused re-playing the night in her head, “she thought I … and her…” a coy smile formed on her face, “and…” the smile fell as a final frown set upon her face. “She’s taken?”
Both Wes and Gunn’s jaws dropped.
