Believe it or not, I have a multi-chap case fic for The Mentalist that I'm currently working on. I'm pretty sure I'll finish it, but between school and the potential for writer's block, I'm not totally sure when it will actually be done. Of course, I also have ideas and scenes jotted down for some Castle and Mentalist one shots.
Total: 27
Looking back, did you write more fics than you thought you would this year, less than you thought, or about what you predicted?
I certainly wrote less than I did last year, but I also expected to not write as much this year because of school.
Where did you publish/archive your stories?
LJ and FanFiction.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2012?
Well, I certainly didn't see my obsession with The Mentalist and Jane/Lisbon blossoming the way that it did. I even said that I didn't plan on finishing my ideas for a Mentalist fic in my last End of the Year Writing Meme.
What's your favorite story this year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest.
It would probably have to be 'Don't Hang Up', because there's something about it that's just a little bit different from my other fics.
Okay, NOW your most popular story.
Definitely 'Don't Hang Up'.
Story most underappreciated by the universe?
Hmm probably 'Carry Me Home'. There just don't seem to be a lot of Leverage fans who read my fics.
Story that could have been better?
Generally, I would say mostly all of them, because I focus most on the flaws in all of my writing. However, 'Wishbone' kind of let me down. I would definitely go back and change that if I had the time.
Sexiest story?
Haha none of them. I don't d sexy.
Most fun story?
'A Mile in Your Shoes'. I loved writing it, and it has Lisbon making fun of Jane for losing his shoes, then returning his shoes to him, then stealing them again while he sleeps. It's an absolute ball.
Story with single sweetest moment?
Hmm. This one's tough. 'And It Sounds Like Home' has some sweet moments, with Jane refusing to leave Lisbon by herself and then telling her to have faith. While 'Carry Me Home' is sweet because the premise is that Nate keeps his promise to Sophie and takes the team to Paris after Belgrade. But I also really like the scene in 'Don't Hang Up' when Jane calls Lisbon and apologizes for all the things he's done wrong...I'm sure there are so many others that I'm forgetting about.
The story that made you cry?
None of them. I don't really write sad, just angsty.
Hardest story to write?
'Don't Hang Up' definitely took awhile, because I wanted to get it just right.
Easiest story to write?
Probably 'Darling, Everything's On Fire'. I think I wrote it while watching the Castle episode it's based on.
Most overdue story?
'Carry Me Home'? I've no idea how the idea for that fic didn't strike me sooner.
Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
Well, I did start writing in a new fandom, yet again. I guess I learned never to say never.
Do you have any fanfic goals for the New Year?
I'd like to finish the case fic I'm working on for The Mentalist.
