Salut!!! I really do miss everyone though I love life here. its so different really I dont know when I'm going to return to reality. It makes me afraid that it might bite me in the ass real hard.
I love my host family, I really do. Last night I had a really late dance class so the mom saved my dinner for me. yummy, because this woman really knows how to cook. She was telling me that her childrens friends love to come over just for her food. Im pretty sure Id do the same thing if I lived close by. All the food that she cooks is fresh and from scratch and is absolutely amazing. Ok so my host family isnt only good for the food but I also feel that they have helped me improve my french soooo much and its only been two weeks. I love speaking with them and they really want to help me. The worst part about this language is that they actually conjugate there verbs. Its very hard to remember the correct tense to say much less the right ending depending on if youre referring to youself, another person or several. gaaaahh!! It makes my brain want to explode. Mind fuck if you please.
Really right now Im just procrastinating because I rushed to get here at 845 to do some homework before a class I thought I had a ten. well it turns out that the class isnt until 11. yay for me. Oh well I got my grammar homework done which is the class I have today at 415 and did some reasearch for a paper. But now my brain is on french overload and since I cant speak in English I might as well write in it.
I went to my class at the university the other day and really it was so exhausting. half way through I could barely concentrate enough to listen much less continue taking notes. I mean it made my braind so tired by the end that I actually was falling asleep. A quick espresso to jump start my brain after class was desperately needed. This class is in Licence 3 which is there top year of the first round of university schooling. This makes me nervous because I could probably handle the subject matter if it were in English, but trying to write a decent paper for this class in French will be real challenging thats for sure. Anyway the professor has really good pronunciation which is real nice because even though he speaks real fast I can still understand him unless hes uses a vocab word I just dont know, then Im just really fucked. He even slows down at the parts he really wants us to pay attention to and spells word (though usually too fast so hopefully eventually it will help me but for now its just kind of a nice gesture).
I know this update is really jumping around but I just cant seem to organize my thoughts in English anymore. Anyway the one thing I want to warn people about when they come to France are the amzing panini trois fromage. I am so addicted its incredible. they are so cheesy, gooey, warm and grilled on fresh bread...oh my god orgasmic really. Yep thats right Im going to be an elephant when I return. At least I do more walking here so maybe thatll hold off some of the flubber.
