DON QUIXOTE CHAPTER VIII
Don Quixote and his sidekick Sancho are riding along the hillsides of Spain when they encounter some windmills. Don Quixote, being the parody of a hero he is, believes them to be giants. While Sancho advises him the opposite, Don is too stubborn, and goes galloping towards the “giants”. The “giants” own him, kicking him off his horse, and thrashing the horse too. How pathetic. Don Quixote and Sancho, after having a little chat about the stupidity shown prior to the conversation, ride off. During the EPIC BATTLE, however, Don Quixote loses his lance, making him sad, which Sancho the Boy Wonder picks up on due to his excellent social skills. He and Don talk a little while longer, concluding with Don essentially calling Sancho a silly boy with no manners (chivalry). Sancho says its dinnertime and Sancho eats, but Don is too cool to eat, stating he doesn’t “need” food at the “moment”. The two then sleep under a bunch of trees, from which Don makes a makeshift lance, cause he’s smart enough to do that (with some inspiration from Sancho), but not smart enough to realize the “giants” are actually windmills. Upon waking up, Don has Sancho make a pact he will restrain himself from defending him against gentlemen. Sancho foolishly agrees, not yet catching onto the fact his knight is a nutcase. :) The End of Chapter VIII
