RARGH!!!!!

Gorram it.

For the record, I am ok. That being said.

So, I was on my way to work tonight. Not quiet happily, but on my way none the less. So I come to a stoplight, which is red. I am the 3rd car in line. La de da. Then FUCKBLAMO!!! I get knocked into the car in front of me. For reference, I drive....drove a 1997 Ford Thunderbird. Her name was the Blackbird. So, I look into my rearview mirror to see WTF?!! and see twisted black metal, that oddly resembles my trunklid in a mangled and crushed fashion. So I turn my head to the side to see WTF?!?! and see a Jeep Grand Cherokee pulling back, and proceeding to peel off. In the other direction. That's correct, motherfucker hit me and ran. So, I get out to survey the damage. The car in front of me, which was a Suzuki small SUV of some sort now has a rear bumber that instead of being a solid piece of straight metal, is a curved inwards solid piece of metal. All the occupants were ok. This is good. Then I look at my car. Not good. Very not good. Working backwards:

1) The front bumper is scraped and cracked [mumble, plastic bumpers, mumble].
2) The passenger side headlight is hanging loose out of the car, blinking.
3) The hood is buckled slightly where it impacted solid metal bumper of Suzuki.
4) The driver's side rear quarterpanel is buckled forward, nearly touching my driver's side rear wheel.
5) The trunk is smashed and buckled nearly into an inverted V.
6) The rear spoiler is only attached in one place, instead of three.
7) The driver's side brakelight is roughly under the rear windshield, instead of where it should have been.
8) My rear bumber is shattered and hanging loose.
9) All the reflectors that were on the trunk are shattered.
10) My ashtray was knocked out of the dash and into the floor by the impact.
11) The driver's seat was bent by impact, it now sits at an angle.

Overall, only two of my four lights were functional after impact. The rear of the car ends roughly at the rear windshield. My expectations: the Blackbird is dead. Very very dead and very totalled. I am the pissed.

I liked that car a lot. Now I am sore, but ok. Yay for seatbelt and a car that had a good safety rating.

So, onto the hit and run part, it seems the Blackbird struck a blow as her dying action, for as the Jeep, which had no tags by the way, speed off after assraping my car to death, was pouring coolant out of the front end. The Bird had busted it's radiator. Good car. \m/

I'll post before and what's left pics after I take my camera to the impound lot where my car was towed to.
