FUUUUUCK YEAH!!!
Got into the BFA program...
I'm pretty stoked, especially since I didn't even feel like I'd get in at first. Failing my history exam was well worth it to prepare for this beast. So here's what went down.
First round: Reza and Michele
- Michele couldn'tve been more of a bitch about my work, but whatever. Reza was cool and didn't mind reviewing what I'd already turned in for class.
Second round: Unsure
- Suddenly, 10 of the faculty were in my room at once, including my family, so that's about 18 people at once. I felt like I was kind of important, like the teachers'd sped through the previous exhibits to get to mine. Probably not the case, but nonetheless quite exciting. Also helped take pressure offa me since the faculty started having exclusionary dialogue amongst themselves. I just sat and watched, mostly. It made the hour pass like it was merely 5 minutes.
So that's the gist of it. After I presented I tore my stuff down, went to lunch, passed out in my calzone, slept at my buddy's place, checked the results at the Fine Arts building and discovered I'd gotten in. I was hella surprised. I felt like I forgot how to read for a moment. I was just looking for a set of shapes that looked like my name. Only half of us made it, however. Two of my good friends didn't get in... I have hope they will succeed in their future shows. Aside from that, I discovered I was the only male and usually the odd gender out doesn't make it, but I showed them.
Thanks for the support, guys! Sorry I didn't mention anything. I knew it was a school day, though, so I just assumed there'd be no chance anyone over here in m-cow would see the show.
