Viva Mexico!! Hola, mi amigos. I just returned from Mexico last night. The entire trip was more than I could have asked for. Some stuff didn't even happen on purpose. These stories are best told in person since they are quite lengthy indeed, but this is just an overview of what I encountered while visiting Puerto Vallarta for the last week:
- Clubbing at a bar called Hilo where the tallest Mexican woman I've ever seen poured two shots of alcohol down my throat, rubbed ice on my nipples, then tweaked them for a solid two minutes while my uncle tried to figure out how to operate the camera.
- Insane traffic filled with run-down busses and nearly-expired cabs trying to make some money in the daily commute of tourists.
- Constant offerings of pot and cocaine from street vendors who sold these items as a side job of sorts.
- Policemen sitting on an island during traffic reading books.
- Met two beautiful women.
- Scuba diving around Marietas.
- Jet-skiing and flipping my sister off the back of the SkiDoo in the process. That salt water kills.
- Drinking an uninhibited amount of alcohol with no hangover whatsoever.
- Sunset view from our room for 6 days.
- Glowing blue and green plankton.
- Street performers doing anything from stacking giant rocks atop one another to miming to statueing(the guy covered himself in sand and stood still for a long time).
- Thanksgiving burritos instead of Thanksgiving turkey.
- Smoked a Cohiba cigar, considered illegal in the states due to the halt of trade between ourselves and Cuba. Damn shame, too, because it was good.
- Learned some Spanish and have an intense desire to keep learning.
- Saw some dolphins.
- Dinner and a show at Las Calietas(?), an island dedicated almost entirely to entertainment.
- Bumped and grinded on some guy's wife while at a bar.
- Accidentally drank the water. Oops.
- Found out that Water Bolleyball is my kind of sport.
- Water Aerobica, too.
- So many things to be thankful for and one helluva way of celebrating them. Thank you, Grandpa. This meant a lot to all of us and couldn't have happened at a better time.
Peace.
