summary: “Well, as I see it, with all the pictures you’re taking, the camera is just going to malfunction one of these days. Or, maybe it’ll be the computer. Maybe you’ll have overloaded it with too many photos and it will crash,” Cook explains to the younger male.
note(s): third part (as of now) in the david&david family series.
“I think,” Cook says, hand resting on the desk as his hazel eyes look over David’s shoulder at the computer screen, “you’re gonna end up breaking the camera.”
David turns away from the screen, which has a window popped up of the most recent pictures they have - well, that David has taken - of their now nine month old son. “What do you mean?”
Cook lets out a small laugh, and turns around so that he is now leaning against the desk next to the chair David is sitting at. He crosses his arms over his chest. “Well, as I see it, with all the pictures you’re taking, the camera is just going to malfunction one of these days. Or, maybe it’ll be the computer. Maybe you’ll have overloaded it with too many photos and it will crash,” Cook explains to the younger male.
David blushes a little at this, and ducks his head as he continues to flip through the pictures he had taken that past week. There are at least a good two hundred new photos to add to the thousands they already have. “We’re gonna have to get another hard drive just for the pictures!” Cook exclaims, and David elbows Cook in the side (well, more like the hip since that is level with his arm right now), and the older male just chuckles.
“I’m just playing with you, babe,” Cook tells him, and pushes himself off the desk to stand behind David, bending down and resting his chin on the smaller male’s shoulder. His hazel eyes scan through the pictures of his baby boy. It seems that every day he’s looking more like himself, and it makes Cook proud. On the other hand, it makes him a little sad because even though it is their child, Grayson has his DNA and not David’s.
“You know, I think we should gave Grayson a little brother or sister,” Cook says, and David turns around quickly in the chair, knocking Cook back a bit.
“Oh my gosh! Are you okay?” David asks, getting off the chair, and moving over to Cook, who is holding his jaw, which took most of the force.
He moves his jaw around, and nods his head. “Yeah, I’m fine, Archie,” he tells the younger male even though his jaw is probably going to be sore for a day or two.
It is silent for another beat before David speaks, “Did you really mean it? That, that we should have another one?”
Cook looks at his husband, a smile pulling at his lips and nods. “Yeah, I meant it. I want another baby with you, Arch,” and David blushes again, a habit that has yet to cease as he grows older. “But, this time, it is going to be you who jacks off in a cup,” and Cook gets a playful smack on the shoulder while David blushes a little harder. Cook lets out a hearty laugh just as the small cry comes through the baby monitor.
“Though, I think we should give it a year or so,” he adds, and David quickly agrees as they both rush out of the room, and toward Grayson’s room.
