My boyfriend and I have a really low-key relationship. Only three people know we're in one, and the rest of our friends are blissfully unaware that anything is going on. Now, up until a few days ago, this other girl was trying to get my boyfriend as a prom date. At first, I didn't take her seriously because...well. I felt no need to. But then, it escalated to the point where there were teams for who he should take to prom. Fucking ridiculous, right?
He did choose me in the end, but yesterday, the girl called him up and told him that I was just "manipulating" him. Why? Because we suddenly got really close half way into the school year, and it was odd that I'd even consider him.

You haven't said so much as a "hi" to him in MONTHS. You've ignored his presence, stopped talking to him on AIM, etc. And yet, when he broke up with his girlfriend, what's the FIRST thing you talk to him about?
