Film Review: The Last Mimzy

Film: The Last Mimzy (2007). Young Actress: Rhiannon Leigh Wryn, age 6.

A bizarre, boring sci-fi kids movie about a brother and sister (Rhiannon) who find a toy bunny from outer space. Or is it from the future? That's just one question that this confusing film never answers, and it isn't at all interesting enough to make me want to try to figure it out. The film simply takes on too much: Tibetan mandalas, terrorism and the Patriot Act, Lewis Carroll and Alice Liddell all make an appearance, but none of them have a clear purpose or even make much sense. Rhiannon - not to be confused with her better-known, more talented contemporary Ariel Gade, to whom she bears some resemblance, especially in this film - is mediocre at best.
