The world's breeziest, seaside film festival is here again! Here are a few young actresses who are currently in Cannes for the 70th Annual Film Festival, from youngest to oldest:
South Korean child star Ahn Seo-Hyun, 13, and her costar Lily Collins at a photocall for Okja on May 19. The action/adventure film is competing the festival's prestigious Palme d'Or in the main competition section.
Deaf American actress Millicent Simmonds, 14, with her costars Michelle Williams, Julianne Moore (
What Maisie Knew), Jaden Michael, and director Todd Haynes at a photocall for their film Wonderstruck on May 18. Millicent is being hailed a breakout star for her debut role in Wonderstruck, which is already getting Oscar buzz.
French-American actress/model Lily-Rose Depp, 17, at the festival's opening gala dinner on May 17. Along with Iranian director Asghar Farhadi and Italian actress Monica Bellucci, Lily-Rose was one of the masters of ceremony at the opening gala, even though she doesn't seem to have any films coming out at Cannes this year.
Elle Fanning, 19, at the screening of the French film Les Fantomes d'Ismael (Ismael's Ghosts) as part of the festival's opening gala on May 17. Elle is in Cannes to promote her new film
The Beguiled, which
I've been looking forward to since it was announced because it has so many young actresses in it.
Japanese actress Hana Sugisaki, 19, with costar Takuya Kimura and director Takashi Miike at the screening of Mugen no Junin (Blade of the Immortal) on May 18. The violent samurai film was picked up for American distribution at the festival.
