Junsu dreads going into work every Wednesday morning. It’s his longest shift of the week, nine hours, 8am start, every single week.
As soon as he enters the store he goes straight into auto-pilot mode. He greets the customer with the same chirpy smile he gives every other customer. He scans each item staring into space, mind in an unknown world that even Junsu himself can’t comprehend. He reads out the amount, accepts payment, gives receipt, sparkles that smile again and the cycle starts from the beginning for the next transaction.

This had been Junsu's Wednesday routine for the past two years.
Wake up by the warmth of the early morning sunlight in the comfort of his bed.
Eat a breakfast of kimchi omelette with extra kimchi on the side.
Work, the place he both hates and loves.
Go home, iPod on full blast trying not to fall asleep on the subway.
Eat again, dinner of instant ramen, quick and easy.
And finally sleep.
It was the routine he grew accustom to, one he was comfortable with. It gave him a sense of knowing what lies ahead of him-well sort of- and what his day more or less entails. He also worked weekends, the shifts were relatively short where Junsu would add shopping or more sleep to his day. When he wasn't working he was studying, part-time checkout operator Kim Junsu was also a university student majoring in business management.
One day he would own his own chain of supermarkets, eventually going global. Japan, USA, UK, Australia, Ru-
"How much?"
Part of the routine, drifting off to dreamworld; having to be brought back to reality by the patient customer.
"Sorry ajusshi, that’ll be 32,369 won please."
"Thank you,
have a nice day,
bye.

Hello good morning,
how are you today?
Good."

He's about to go back into dream world when he looks out to his queue of customers, his glimpse focuses on the fourth person. Wow he’s beautiful, ridiculously beautiful in fact; he looks perfect from afar... But before he allows his mind to fall into yet another world when the beautiful man would have a huge part in he shook all thoughts out of his mind and continued scanning.

"Thanks very much,
have a nice day,
bye"

Junsu turns slowly on the heels of his foot, head slowly rising up as he peeps through the strands of his bangs. He freezes for a moment, totally memorised by this stranger’s beauty, he looks perfect close up too.
“Morning.” The customer smiles.
“H-Hiya, good morning.”
Junsu forgets the ‘how are you today?’ and the beaming smile, instead the corners of his lips curls slightly and he tries to avoid any more eye contact with the beautiful man.
“That’s 19,513 won please.”
The man hands him two 10,000 won bills, Junsu’s hand reaches out to accept and for a second he thinks the stranger’s hand is lingering onto his, it catches his attention and he looks up questionably.
The man simply nods “thank you”.
Junsu is suddenly flustered as it takes him longer than usual to cash up and give the man his change and receipt.
His farewell words are rushed “thankyouhaveanicedaybye.”

He turns on his heels once again ready to start the next cycle, not before giving himself a second to compose himself. He feels his heart beating vigorously against his chest and he holds his breath hoping it’ll stop, shit shit shit, Kim Junsu get it together!

The image of this beautiful man replays over and over again in Junsu’s mind for a good few days, yet it was when the thoughts of the man started to disappear that reality decides to bring the real thing right before his eyes once again.
Another Wednesday and the man is back, queuing with shopping in his arms along Junsu’s till.
Junsu brushes it off as coincidence, but when the man is back the next week and the week after that, he starts to think otherwise.

It’s been over a month now and Junsu notices this man queues at his till every week, even if his has the longest line of people the man is still there.
He’s adapted to his regular customer though and eye contact is no longer a problem-but heart still is- today he even manages his bright and attractive smile, twice even before he has finished the transaction!
“26,220 won please.”
“Thank you.”
The stranger smiles and today Junsu doesn’t imagine it this time, the man’s hand is lingering against his. Handing over the bills, he brushes his fingers along the length of Junsu’s clinging onto his fingertips.
“So you’ve finally loosen up huh? When’s your lunch break?”
Junsu’s mind doesn’t let him register and think upon the last few words from the stranger, it just sends a sentence for Junsu to reply with.
“Um, 12.”
“12? I’ll be back to take you out then. Keep the change, see you later!”
“But-um, okay see you later?”

“Junsu!”
“Hi, erm how do you know my name?”
Jaejoong points to his name tag.
“Ah.”
“I know a great café nearby?”
“S-Sure, by the way what’s your name?”
“Oh sorry, I’m Jaejoong.”
Jaejoong, his name suits him really well.

Surprisingly (to both of them) it doesn’t take Junsu long to loosen up. It must have been Jaejoong’s way with words that had Junsu laughing in no time and blurting out everything about himself.

“I had a great hour.”
Junsu feels himself blushing and going all shy again.
“Me too.”
Jaejoong’s finger outlines the younger man’s face and pushes up against his chin.
“You shouldn’t hide your gorgeous looks all the time, people won’t know what they’re missing.”
His cheeks are getting hotter.
Jaejoong leans in closer.
Junsu’s heart skips a beat.
This is it.
He grabs Jaejoong’s shoulders and pulls him closer. Their lips touch and Jaejoong is a little shocked at the younger man’s actions, but he doesn’t mutter a single complaint.
Lips part and Junsu slips his tongue in, pulling in closer he deepens their kiss. It’s soft but needy. He had wanted this for so long, they both did. And it was what Junsu imagined it to be and better, so much better. Jaejoong tasted of chocolates and Junsu craved more.
“But you was able found me…”

He no longer dreads coming into work on Wednesdays, they are no longer a drag; he’s no longer on auto-pilot mode. His smiles are brighter than ever, he greets with a tone of sheer happiness. Junsu clock watches and looks forward to when 11:45am rolls round.
11:45 is the fixed time Jaejoong arrives at Junsu’s till every week, he pays for his shopping, throws the bags into the boot of his car and takes Junsu out to lunch.
An hour flies by in a blink of an eye, and they wish they could freeze time. The hour was the only time they had to spend with each other for the past few weeks-beside the constant daily texts which don’t really count in their books-as clashing schedules fails to comply with their relationship.

Their hands are on each other’s waist as Jaejoong walks Junsu back into work.
“I’ll have next Tuesday off if you’re free?”
Junsu rests his forehead on Jaejoong and traces the outline of his lips.
“I’ll make sure I’m free” and the older man kisses against his fingers.

Tuesday. Jaejoong picks Junsu up at 10am and takes him to the theme park.
The car journey is filled with laughter and stolen touches. Junsu cups Jaejoong’s hand on the gearstick, Jaejoong reaches over for a kiss at a red light, music is blaring out loud and they both sway and sing along. Their own rendition of Michael Jackson’s Beat It.
"But you wanna be bad.
Just beat ittt, beat ittt, beat itttt, beat itttt, no one wants to be defeated! "

Junsu hates heights, yet he allows Jaejoong to drag him up to all the highest and scariest rides.
They follow the line of people round the path to the start of the ride. Jaejoong has his arm around Junsu’s waist and his chin on the younger man’s shoulder, he trails kisses along his jaw and Junsu throws his head back.
“God you’re so perfect.”
“And you’re so sexy Junsu-ah.”
“I think I’m falling in love with you Jaejoong.”
“I’m already in love with you…”
The older man kicks the back of Junsu’s legs and guilds him forward, they continue to walk along together, still in Jaejoong’s hold.
Once secured in the ride, Junsu grips onto the handles of the protector tightly. His lover runs his fingers along his cheeks.
“Don’t worry baby, it’ll be amazing trust me.”
I do, I trust you with my world.
Jaejoong takes Junsu’s hand and the ride begins.

Six hours on as they exit the theme park they release that they haven’t eaten all day.
Stomachs growl in existence and they eventually find a lovely little restaurant.

“I see your hands are fused together now.”
“Yoochun!”
“Hey loverboys!”
“What are you doing here?”
“Getting some takeaway for a night in with the other boys, you’re welcome to join us.”
“…Erm…”
“Nah I thought not, anyway I wouldn’t want the both of you putting us off our food. Another time guys.”
“Definitely. See you later.”
Junsu’s cheeks are a flush of pink and Jaejoong laughs pinching his nose in adoration.
I’m falling for you all over again. Why are like this Junsu?

It’s Jaejoong’s turn to pay and Junsu can’t help but look out to his man at the front counter. A smile looms on his face.
I’m so lucky to have you in my life.

“Ready to go?”
Junsu pulls Jaejoong in for a kiss.
“No…I want to stay here and kiss you all night.”
“But you have forever to kiss me.”
So damn lucky.

They exit the restaurant in fits of laughter.
“I guess I see you tomorrow 11:45 on the dot.”
Jaejoong pouts at the thought of being away from each other for the next few hours.
“I guess…”
“Goodnight baby.”
But Jaejoong doesn't do routine. He takes Junsu by the hand and pulls him back into his arms.
"Come home with me Junsu-ah."
"I-I have work tomorrow."
"So..."
"Early in the morning"
"And..."
Jaejoong lips nuzzles into the crock of Junsu’s neck as the whisper of his words sends shivers down his lover's spine and goosebumps forming on his skin. A moan escapes Junsu’s lips and Jaejoong knows that both Junsu’s heart and mind are fighting for domination.
"And...” Jaejoong nips at his earlobe “oh god Jae..."
The younger man escapes out of Jaejoong's hold, the older man groaning as the warmth leaves him and is replaced by the breeze of the chilly evening.
"Fine, off you go."
"This way then."
Junsu's amazing laugh echoes through the empty streets, taking Jaejoong’s hand as he leads him home. To Jaejoong's home. Where he will sleep, wake up to a different kind of warmth and have whatever’s available in Jaejoong’s fridge for breakfast.
Routine? Junsu doesn't do routine too.
