Something to Think About
When my sister recommended the website
Post Secrets I decided to check it out. The first time I read it, I cried. For me it is a reality check that there are so many people in this world who are hurting, afraid, and feel alone. Little do they know that they aren’t alone. I think we, as believers forget that we have something so special…a relationship with the Lord. Everytime I read these it reminds me that I have a job to do. That God placed me on this earth to spend the good news to everyone. It saddens my heart to see that my fellow brother and sisters in Christ are so caught up in themselves.(this includes me) In their lives, in there problems, that they loose sight of that really is going on in this world. A girl that I know is so caught up in this “problem” she is having with another girl. She has wasted so much time trying to prove to people that she is such a victim and that this other girls name should be slandered so that people can know how much she has been scarred by this absolutely silly situation. I hate to break it to this her, but the girl who wrote that post card…she is the one who is truly hurting. and whats scarier is, we could know the girl who wrote that postcard. I just wish that we would get over “us” and focus on real true problems in this world. Suicide. Murder. Abuse. Addiction. Eating Disorders. Pain. Neglect. Abandonment. Poverty. Self-Hatred. What we need to start focusing on is praying for this world, for our generation. There are so many things that are more important than what we are even living for. We need to step back from what we focus on and really pay attention to the bigger problems that we face. Kids, who we go to school with, or church with, may be struggling to get by. Wondering whether or not he/she is going to eat tonight. Kids who are walking home at night praying the whole time that there abusive parent isn’t going to be drunk tonight and beat them. Kids who wish they could stop being addicted to pornography and wish they had a Positive influence in their life, or even someone to talk to. Or even kids who contemplate suicide every night because they feel, worthless, ugly, alone. I’m sorry for this post, but I just think these are some things to think about.
Remember…that no matter what your problems are…other people are probably dealing with bigger ones. It isn’t our place to sit back and watch…but to get out and do something about it.
“and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.”
- Ephesians 1:19-21
