la la land - pinch me
Today was ideal; I wish everyday could flow like today did.
I woke up late, messed around with my presentation for my dad, and then went out with Hunt to go music shopping at 东门 again (been there "n" number of times over the past few weeks). I bought six cds for 100rmb: Rolling Stones, 50 Cent, The Ataris, Outkast, a mix cd, and HK stuff. The guy I bought cds from last time sold his Death Cab for Cutie cd. Later, we ate lunch at a crowded fast food place, and then he had to go meet friends. During lunch, I put my present for him in the front pocket of his backpack. When we separated, I told him to check it after he got on the bus. Tonight, his MSN message gave a delightful indication that he recieved it. :)
I came back, slept awhile, and then went out to dinner with my parents at our usual restaurant where we're the only patrons requesting a table to be placed outside in front of the restaurant door. It's funny how the waiters follow you as you try to decide which restaurant to pick; they all run after you and yell, "We're having a discount!" It just shows you how energetic and enthusiastic the little businesses are in China.
After dinner, Jackie and I went to pick up his friend Peak from the airport. He arrived from a business trip in Shanghai. He's here now watching an NBA live dvd with Jackie. It might be my last time seeing him before I leave. I'm just really happy I can spend a day with good friends; I feel as if I'm protected from all the horrible things in this world.
