you loved honestly

So this is a story about homosexuals. Well, one adorable one who sat by me at lunch today and made me realize a whole lot.

To start off, I live in a small town way north and seeing an (openly) gay person is like seeing a palm tree; you don't, and when you do happen to stumble across one it's either fake or it won't last (gay people typically leave because there is no other people willing to be like "yeah I'm gay, too, wanna hold hands?" because the people that live in my town are a whole bunch of bigots.

So anyways, there I was sitting at lunch when the young boy (13... maybe 14) next to me said to his group of girl friends, "My boyfriend is coming to visit this weekend! I can't wait for you guys to meet him!"

Now, I had heard rumors about this kid before, but it still came as a bit of a shock. My gut reaction? A mix between this

and this

Which translates to me sitting at the table with my face red trying to keep from hyperventilating or laughing or running at him like this:

while my friends are like:

Is there a point to this story? Yes. After this happened today, I want to take a minute to give thanks. I want to thank my best friend for putting up with my ridiculous love and support for homosexuals because sometimes, she was the only one who would listen. I want to thank all of my friends (including all of you lovely people on here) for being so open and keeping my eyes open and correcting me when I'm stereotypical or judgmental and overall making me a better person. I want to thank my family for always teaching me that everyone is equal. I want to thank Hollyoaks, because without them I might still be living in a world where gay couples were on the other side of the fence, so to speak, and to catch a glimpse of them was a rare thing. I want to thank Harry Potter for providing me with my first slash ship ever. I want to thank Ellen Degeneres and Portia de Rossi for being amazing and hilarious and the most adorable lesbian couple. I want to thank every country and state that allow gay marriage. I want like to thank everyone who has ever donated to causes or spoke out in support or defense of homosexuals. I want to thank the whole NOH8 campaign and all of it's participants. I want to thank Kris Allen for falling in love with a man despite everyone pushing his straight, christian image. I want to thank Adam Lambert for never hiding who he was and for being an inspiration to the gay community as well as opening the eyes of so many people. And above all, I want to thank all of the men and women who are brave enough to come out, even when times are tough and when so many people are looking down their noses at you. You are all so beautiful. Don't ever forget that.

gay!, these are the things i live for
