I've made a couple of realizations in the past few days.
#1 - Women's shoes are evil.
I bought this really cute pair of platform sandals last week (in a rare move; I almost never go shoe shopping unless I have to). I figured I should break them in by wearing them to the mall on Wednesday. This has turned out to be a bad idea.
I mean, it was a bit uncomfortable walking around in them, but I just ignored it and finished my errands. I expected a blister or two (which there were), but when I got home, I found out they'd also torn the skin off the top of my feet where the straps were. So that whole "not being able to walk" bit kinda ruined my plans to go to the park with Justin on Thursday. Fortunately, we hit the LAN center instead. Which brings me to the second realization.
#2 - I need to buy a decent video card for my PC.
At the LAN center, they had all sorts of nifty games loaded on their rigs. Lots of FPS and MMO games, all of which looked pretty nice. The one I ended up playing the most was F.E.A.R., which was indeed creepy and very slick. My PC could never run it, so I was stoked to finally get to play it. Nowadays, it seems that the factory-installed video cards just don't play as many of the games out there as they used to. I've got a perfectly good copy of Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines that I can't run either because of that issue. So for you hardware-savvy types, any suggestions on which brand gives quality and reliable performance without being uber-expensive would be more than welcome.
