Fatty Miyoung

“Seriously now? Why do I have to be the one going in there?” I asked my group of friends, who consisted of Yoona, Sooyoung, and Taeyeon. They wanted me to go inside that creepy lighthouse all by myself. Are they crazy or what?

“You said you weren’t afraid of ghosts, so go then! I heard the lighthouse is haunted.” Taeyeon said with a sly smirk.

I scoffed.

“Of course I’m not afraid of ghosts..but that lighthouse is creepy! what if something happens to me?” I said, but their determination to get me inside the lighthouse did not falter. Yoona stepped up to me and handed me her cellphone.

“Just call us if something happens. ” She said, “That lighthouse is abandoned. They only come to change the light bulb once every few months.”

“It’s only for an afternoon, you can do it!” Sooyoung pushed on.

Yeah, I wasn’t afraid of ghosts. Ghosts are nothing, we humans should be more scared of other humans themselves; not ghosts. There’s no such thing as ghosts.

I sighed, giving up to their dare.

“What do I get out of this?”

“Bravery,” Taeyeon answered.

“Lunch on me,” Sooyoung added.

“Uh..a kiss from me?” Yoona said, and Taeyeon and Sooyoung both looked at her. Even I gave her a ‘say what?’ expression.

“Just kidding! I’ll pay for your ticket to Lotte world!”

We all sighed in relief. Alright, I just have to spend an afternoon at the lighthouse. No biggy. I can do this-

At least, I hope so..

“Okay, I’ll do it then. I’ll go. It’s no biggy, I’m gonna have a blast at the lighthouse.”

“We’re sure you will,” They all said in unison, it gave me the creeps.

---

Dammit, I can’t believe I’m actually doing this. It’s a pain in the a*s trying to reach to the lighthouse, the rocky surroundings were definitely not helping as I struggled to hop onto the rocks to reach my destination. I stood uneasily on one of the rocks as I looked back at the girls, they were waving to me, screaming, “GO INSIDE THE LIGHTHOUSE YURI! WE’LL COME PICK YOU UP LATER!”

“WHATEVER, I WILL!” I screamed back at them, and hopped onto the land surrounding the big lighthouse. It was huge, tall, built with white bricks. I scoured the area until I found a red door, leading into the house. Instinctively, I knocked on the door.

“Is anyone in here?” I asked, but obviously no one was in there because no one answered.

I placed my hand on the doorknob and turned it clockwise, it wasn’t locked. I was hoping it was locked so I could find an excuse to go home. I grumbled when the door opened and dust came flying down.

I coughed violently, swatting away the dust with my hand. It settled down a few minutes later, and I was greeted with the sight of the huge spiral staircase at the center of the house. There was a fireplace in the corner, a dusty couch adjacent to it, and nothing else.

There was nothing else to this place, it looked abandoned and like Yoona said, people only come to change the lightbulb once every few months. But is this place really haunted? I don’t know, it does look a bit creepy on the inside, I really don’t know how I’ll be able to handle a whole afternoon in here.

Light was shining through the windows, but the light was inadequate, it won’t be long until I’ll find myself in the darkness of the house. I closed the doors behind me and gulped, walking over to the dusty sofa. I swatted the dust off and sat on it, figuring I’d just sit and wait here for the rest of the afternoon to come before I leave and prove the girls how brave I am.

But just sitting on the sofa doing nothing was boring, I took out the cell phone Yoona had given to me and started to play some games. The battery was crappy, not even an hour of playtime and the battery lowered down to 20 percent. I stopped playing and placed the phone back onto my pocket, I leaned back on the couch and stared at the long staircase. I was curious, and I wanted to see where it led to, but I was also lazy and walking up those stairs was just not worth it.

Sleeping would be the best option right now, I was getting tired and sleeping would be great to pass the time before the girls come pick me up. I laid down on the couch and closed my eyes, before I knew it.. I was drifting slowly to sleep..

---

I woke up, darkness was surrounding me. The only source of light was the light coming from up the spiral stairs, it was the lighthouse’s main purpose. Unable to see well, I stayed close to the wall and felt it up, looking for the door to get out of this place. Suddenly, I felt something, and it didn’t feel like the brick walls of the house. It felt like hair, soft..I hovered my hands down a bit and continued feeling up whatever that was in front of me, it felt like skin.

Oh crap. Oh crap. Oh crap. Oh crap.

My heart started to beat faster and faster, I squinted my eyes and saw a girl staring right at me, her hair sprawled all over her face.

I gulped.

“AHHHH, GOD SAVE ME!” I screamed on top of my lungs, trying to run for the door but it was too dark! I couldn’t find the door!

The ghost was following me closer and closer.

I started to sob. “DON’T COME NEAR ME!” I screamed at her and ran up the stairwell, as fast as I can. She tried to follow, but the light
from the lamp on top of the lighthouse shined down, and it scared her away.

I sighed in relief as I reached to where the huge lamp or lightbulb or whatever they call those are located and sat in a corner.

Damn girls forgot to come pick me up. I took out the cellphone, and are you freaking kidding me?

THE BATTERY IS DEAD!

And I’m trapped inside this haunted lighthouse!

At least I am protected by the light...

Until it started to dim down, and before I knew it, it was shut off. It burned. THEY DIDN’T CHANGE THE FREAKING LIGHTBULB!?

I could see it. It’s going up the stairs, I could see it. Oh, my God.

There was nowhere else to go, I’m gonna die tonight. All thanks to those three! If I die and become a ghost, I’m going to haunt them forever!

I curled up into a ball and crossed my fingers, “Please don’t hurt me!” I cried out, sobbing, tears actually flowing down my cheeks as I pleaded.

I hear noise as the girl creeps closer, I see her feet. She’s standing in front of me, but nothing happened. She didn’t..kill me.

I looked up, right at her. She extended her hand out-

“Wh-what do you want?” I asked her, and she laughed an evil laughter.

I curled up into a ball again, crossing my fingers as I prayed to God.

I felt her fingers tap on my head. I shivered, crying to myself.

“Don’t kill me..” I sobbed.

Her hands laid firmly on my shoulders and pulled me up slowly, pushing me onto the wall.

I closed my eyes and tilted my head to a side.

“BOO!” she yelled and I sobbed hysterically, dropping onto the floor.

“Don’t kill me!” I pleaded again.

“You cry baby,” she said and laughed at me.

I looked up at her, her hair wasn’t sprawled all over her face anymore. The moonlight was faint, but it reflected enough light to her face so that I could faintly see what she looks like.

“Are you a ghost?” I asked her, wiping away my tears.

She walked over to me and kneeled down on one knee, looking straight at me.

“What do you think?” she asked me, “Ghosts are suppose to hover right? Am I hovering? You can’t feel ghosts, but you could feel me, right? Don’t I feel like human to you?”

“Have you not seen the Grudge!?” I yelled at her.

Who in the world is this girl? And why is she even here? She’s not a .. ghost, right?

“Oh, right. The Grudge. You mean the girl with her hair sprawled out like this?” she flipped her hair over, covering her face with it.

“And she crawls like this?” she asked, getting on the floor on all fours.

“And-she makes this kind of noise, right?” she asked lastly, making the death rattle sound as she slowly crawled back and forth around me.

“STOP!” I yelled, standing up.

“What? Are you scared?” she asked, standing up right again as she fixed her hair.

“Do I have a reason not to be scared!? Who are you?!”

“Tiffany Hwang, nice to meet you. And you are.. Cry baby?”

This girl, who the heck she think she is!? Calling me cry baby because I cried? Who wouldn’t cry if they were in MY position!?

“Excuse me, cry baby?” I said, trying to sound tough.

“Oh, I’m sorry, I must’ve mistaken you for a cry baby then. Your name is Yuri though, is it not?”

What the.. how did she know my name? I don’t even know her!

“How did you know my name!?”

She laid back against the rails of the staircase and proceeded to speak up.

“You see, I was a bit bored today. So while I was wandering around the streets looking for something to do, I heard these three girls talking about a ‘Kwon Yuri’ whom they dared to go inside the ‘haunted’ lighthouse for the afternoon. I’m pretty daring ya know? So I came here to check it out, and I saw you sleeping on the couch. Thought it would be fun to wait until you wake up and scare you.”

“Wow, you’re really that bored to do that, huh?” I said sarcastically.

“I guess. It was worth it though, I mean, look at your reaction! I knew I should’ve brought my cell phone with me. This could’ve become a viral video!”

“Har har, very funny,” I deadpanned and rolled my eyes.

“Actually, I wanted to leave, but the door wouldn’t budge open.”

“So you mean we’re stuck in here?”

“Seems so. Isn’t your friends going to come find you or something?”

“They were suppose to!” I grumbled.

“Aww too bad, I hope the ghouls won’t go after you tonight! I’m not afraid of ghosts though, they should be intimidated by me.”

I scoffed.

“Intimidated by you? Like hell they would!”

“Says the person who cried and sobbed for her life.”

“Like you wouldn’t if I did the same thing to you!?”

“No, I would use common sense.”

“Such as?”

“Kick you of course, ghosts aren’t suppose to feel physical pain right?”

“Yeah, that’s totally common sense right there.”

“It is!” she smiled, “And you could’ve used some of that common sense.”

She was starting to exasperate me. I rolled my eyes at her and walked towards the staircase.

“Where are you going?” she asked me, her voice echoing through the place.

“Trying to go and bust out that door because I don’t think I’d be able put up with you for the night.” I told her, and walked my way down the steps.

I heard her footsteps coming from behind me.

“What? Are you scared I’m going to scare you again?” she said, her voice lingering through my mind.

I paused, sighing.

“Whatever.” I said, not turning around to face her. I continued further down the steps until she spoke up again.

“Scaredy cat.”

I shook her words off and continued walking, she was still following me. What the hell does she want?

“Chicken.” she said, and I grumbled on the inside. I won’t let her words effect me, though.

“Ba-bawk, chicken. Ba-bawk.”

Alright, that did it. She’s getting right on my nerves.

“I’M NOT A CHIC-“ I turned around to face her and yelled, but I suddenly stopped midway.

We met face to face, merely inches away from each other. She looked surprised, and so was I.

One word to express how I felt at that moment?

Awkward.

“-KEN! I’m not a chicken.” I quickly said, and pretended to cough-to ease up the awkwardness. I walked down the remaining steps and blindingly tried to find my way to the door.

She didn’t move from her spot. She just stood there, looking at me.

I stopped walking and turned around to face her.

“What? Out of things to say to me? I’m not scared of you, alright? You came at me and surprised me like that, of course anyone would be shocked to death!”

“Okay. Fine.”

Damn, she sounded a bit upset. I wasn’t trying to make her upset or feel insulted or anything, I was just trying to make things clear to her.. and now this happened?

The awkward moment of silence.

“Sorry.. if I was a bit too much.” I sincerely apologized.

If the door won’t bust out, I’d have to stay a night with her, and being friends is better than being enemies with each other right now.

“Nah, no need. You were right. I should be apologizing for scaring you like that. I’m sorry.”

She sounded sarcastic, but at this moment, I don’t really care. Just gotta do anything to keep a good relationship going on.

“So can we just call it a truce?” I offered, and she walked over to me.

“Truce.” she smiled.

“Good,” I flashed a smile back, “It would be great if you help me open up this door, unless you want us both to be stuck in here for the whole night.”

“As much as I really want to help you so we can both leave this place, it’s no use. The door won’t budge. Hopefully your friends will remember that you’re still up here and come to get you tomorrow.”

“Are you serious?” I asked, letting out a exasperated sigh.

“Do I not look serious? Why would I waste my whole day today just to wait until you wake up to scare you?”

Well, she made a good point. No one would wait hours just to scare somebody, I know I wouldn’t.

“Guess we’ll have to spend the night here. I don’t even know what time it is.” I said, walking over to the fireplace.

“See if there’s a match, or else it’ll be too cold to spend the night here.” she said to me, helping me search for any matchsticks that happened to be laying around here.

And hallelujah, some kind hearted folks actually left behind matches here for us!

“Found it!” I said.

I quickly sparked up a fire before I threw the match stick into the fireplace. The fire lit up the whole house, darkness was finally gone.

She let out a contented sigh and sat back on the couch. I could finally see what she looks like, clearly, and it wasn’t for a split-second like that awkward moment earlier.

She looked quite beaut-

“How come you get the couch?” I suddenly blurted out, it was against my will, but it came out somehow and now she’s giving me this look.

“Oh I’m sorry, do you want it? After all, you slept for hours on the couch already, and plus, you found the couch first right? It should be yours then.” She said and stood up, but I knew she was being sarcastic. She’s trying to imply the fact that I’ve slept on the couch already, and so now it’s her turn.

Fine.

“Forget it, you can have it.” I said, and took seated on the floor right next to the fireplace. I immediately felt warmth, it was actually quite nice. I felt like I was back at Camp Mickey again.

I looked up at the windows on top of the staircase, the moon faded away and hundreds and thousands of stars filled the sky.

Ignoring the girl-Tiffany, rather. I stood up and walked towards the stairs.

“Where are you going?” She asked me.

“Why do you always want to know where I’m going? Are you scared to be at one spot alone or something?”

“N-no, I was just wondering, can’t a person wonder!?” she said.

I slightly snickered to myself. She wasn’t that brave after all.

“I’m going stargazing, wanna come?” I offered out of courtesy and she quickly got off the couch.

“Sure, why not?” she said, shrugging and we both proceeded to walk up the spiral stairs.

The space upstairs was limited and wasn’t spacious like downstairs, but it was enough for a few people to be standing up here.

The roof was made with glass, stargazing up here was definitely a treat.

I got comfortable and laid down on my back, my hands propped behind my head as I viewed the stars above.

“Are you gonna lay down or what? You’ll be straining your neck if you stargaze like that.” I told her, and she pursed her lips.

“I will.” she said, and hesitantly laid down near me, but not close to me. We were about 2 feet apart.

“If you connect those stars,” I spoke up, raising my hand to point at the sky, “It’ll make out the constellation of Pisces, the fish.”

“Where?” she asked, trying to find out where my finger was pointing at, “I don’t see it.”

“It’s from that star,” I said, pointing at the starting star and proceeded to trace the constellation, “To that star, do you see it?”

“No! Point slowly.” she said, pointing her index finger in the air as she tried to follow my lead.

I groaned.

“It’s from that star.. to that star.”

“I still don’t see it?”

Without even thinking, I crept closer to her and grasped her hand, tracing the constellation up in the sky.

“It’s from that star.. to that star. Do you see it now?” I said, suddenly I felt nervous.. what the hell.

She looked at me, and I looked at her. We both exchanged awkward eye contacts as I released her hand.

I coughed.

“So did you see it or not?”

“Yeah.. I think.”

“Good.” I said, moving back to my position.

For the next few minutes, we were awkwardly silent with each other.

And to make the awkward moment even more awkward, my stomach growled. I was hungry.

Shiiiiit.

“Ahem,” I pretended to clear my throat, “I didn’t eat a lot today..”

“It’s okay, I didn’t really -“

Her stomach suddenly growled loudly.

“-eat that much today either..” she said, rubbing her tummy.

We both chuckled, at least it eased up our awkwardness by a bit.

“What if your friends forgot about you? What if we’re stuck in here forever without anything to eat and die out of starvation?” she said, and I chuckled.

“I’ll eat you.”

“What?” she propped herself up with her elbow and shot me a glare.

Oh Christ, I didn’t realize how weird that sounded.

“No! I didn’t mean eat you, eat you. I meant eat you, as in cannibalism.”

She gave me a ‘what the fu*k’ look.

“Oh my God, never mind.” I groaned and she laughed at me.

“You’re pretty funny-“

“Thanks I’ve been told.” I said cockily.

“You’re pretty funny looking I meant. So I see that I’m not the only person who think you look funny, hm.”

This girl, seriously. She’s killing me here.

“Do you really like messing with me or something?” I propped myself up with my elbow and asked her.

“I have to admit, it’s pretty fun to mess with you.”

“Oh really?” I said sarcastically, “What if I messed with you huh? How would you feel!?”

“I don’t know, you’ll need to mess with me first. But you don’t know my weaknesses, though.”

Her weaknesses, her weaknesses.. what are her weaknesses?

“Let me guess, you’re actually afraid of ghosts.”

She shook her head.

“Not really, there are two things I’m more scared of than ghosts.”

Two things huh? I have no idea.

“Give me a hint?” I said.

“I’ll just tell them to you. I’m afraid of bugs, and I’m afraid of being alone.”

No wonder she kept asking where I was going earlier..

“Bugs, really? They’re so tiny though, you can just kill them.” I said like it was no big deal.

“No sh*t sherlock, I know that. But I still don’t like them, they give me the creeps.”

I had an idea in mind to prank her.. this is going to be fun, if she actually falls for it of course.

I tried to look surprised and pointed behind her.

“Bb-bug! BUG BEHIND YOU!”

She shrieked, loudly. So loud, I thought my ear drums would be a goner. She clutched onto me, making me fall back onto the floor and let out a ‘oof’.

“Bulebulebulebulebule,” she said quickly in succession, grasping my shirt tightly as she rested her head against my chest, curling up against me.

I can’t believe she actually fell for it.. but I also can’t believe the fact that my heart was beating fast. What the helllllllllll? Is this because I like her or something?

I mean, she was a bit unbearable at first..

But she seems a bit okay now.. she’s not that bad.

“I-I was just joking, there’s no bug.”

She quickly released me and got off of me. I tried to sit up but she pushed me back down, hard.

“Ow,” I groaned, rubbing my back.

“You jerk.” she mumbled, pouting. “I told you I was afraid of bugs.”

Great, now I feel really bad now.

“Sorry.. I didn’t know you’d have that kind of reaction..” I said, looking down.

She started to snicker, and I looked up.

“YOU PABO! Did you actually thought I fell for that? I’m not that stupid, you know.

“Oh really? So why did you practically jump on me and snuggled against me!” I yelled.

She was taken aback, surprised.

“I did NOT snuggle against you!” she declared.

Now it was my turn to snicker.

“You grasped my shirt and rested your head against my chest! You snuggled against me!”

“NO I DID NOT!”

“YES YOU DID!”

“I DID NOT!”

“YES. YOU. DID! You took advantage of me while I was thinking that you were actually scared! If I didn’t know any better, I’d think you
like me!”

She was baffled by what I said.

“Ww-what!? I DO NOT.”

I felt quit pleased with myself, cornering her like that.

“If you say so..” I said, laying back down as I continued to gaze at the stars.

“I do not like you,” she said lastly before she also laid down, a bit further away from me this time.

I don’t know her true feelings or intentions, but I could feel my attraction to her growing. Just a bit.

Actually, I don’t really know. After all, I only met her today. We only knew each other for hours. Do people actually feel attracted to each other after only knowing each other for a few hours? Is this what they called.. ‘love at first sight’?

“Why are you afraid of being alone?” I asked her.

“Because being alone is lonely, I don’t like being lonely.”

“I like being alone though, it gives me time to relax and work productively without anyone bothering me.”

“I do have times where I want to be alone, but generally, I want to have company.”

“Then, do you have a boyfriend or something?”

“I don’t go swing that way.”

I was surprised.

“Really?”

“Yes, really.” she said in a exasperated tone.

“Oh, what a coincidence because I don’t swing that way either.”

“Really?” she rose up her tone of voice and asked.

“YES, really!” I replied back with a chuckle.

“Do you have a girlfriend then?” she asked.

“Nope, still waiting for that one special person to come.”

“Same with me,” she mumbled.

“I’m actually glad I met you, even though you scared the sh*t out of me during our first encounter.”

“I seriously should’ve brought my cell phone or a camera with me today. Such a waste.” she shook her head out of feigned disappointment.

“I should be glad, right?” I laughed.

“And actually, it’s not our first encounter.”

I was surprised. We’ve seen each other before? I studied her face carefully, but I don’t remember seeing her before anywhere, nevertheless had an encounter with her.

“Really? I don’t remember seeing you before.”

“Are you sure? Look at me carefully.” she said, inching a bit closer to me.

I studied her face clearly again, as her eyes looked at me with intent, somehow hoping that I would remember her. But nothing really comes to my mind, I hadn’t seen her anywhere before until today.

I shook my head.

“I don’t remember you..”

“We met during our freshman year of high school.. try to remember.” she said, sounding hopeful.

I was afraid I’d make her upset, because I really do not remember meeting her before at all.

“I still don’t remember.. give me a hint?”

“You make me sad..” she said, before laughing, but her laughter seemed a bit forced. I felt a little guilty.

“Freshman year, fatty Miyoung. Remember it now?”

Freshman year, fatty Miyoung. FATTY MIYOUNG? I remember her now, it’s only been a few years and she had changed a lot.. to the point that I hadn’t recognize her. She moved away during the start of sophomore year, I hadn’t seen her since until now. She used to be a victim of bullying, everyone teased her for her weight but I was usually there to fend them away. She used to be really shy around me, so we weren’t that close but I’d still think of her as my friend.

“Do you remember me or not?” she asked.

“Yes! I remember you! fatty Miyoung!” I laughed, “You changed a lot!”

“Thanks to you! Miss popular Kwon Yuri.” she said, laughing, “Although, you were cooler back then.”

“What? I’m not cool anymore?”

“I have to thank you, you helped me gain my confidence. After I moved, I began exercising rigorously, maintaining a healthy diet to become what I am now. You once told me that I can’t just hide in my shell all the time, I have to break free.. show everyone my true self. And I listened to you, I became true to myself. This is me, this is who I am now, all thanks to you.”

I felt proud, not of myself, but I felt proud of her. Those words I told her, were just comforting words.. but I really meant it. I just didn’t realize that she had taken my words to heart, and followed through with it.

“I.. had no idea. I did all of that to you?” I felt a bit stupid, I couldn’t find anything better to say to her.

She nodded.

“I was ecstatic when dad said we’d move back here again, I really wanted to see you again and tell you things my old self was too shy to tell you.”

“What do you want to tell me?” I said, anticipating what she would tell me.

Would she tell me that she..-

“I.. like you, you were right earlier. I like you.” she said, with a hint of nervousness.

I froze, not knowing what I should say, or tell her.

I do like her.. but I just don’t know.. if the feelings that I am feeling, are true to myself or not?

It’s been years since we’ve last met, I only thought of her as a friend before. Meeting her again today, my heart stirred for the first time.

But ahhh! I can’t tell her that I like her, because what if I don’t? I’ll hurt her. I don’t ever want to hurt her.

“Give me some time..” was all I told her. She nodded and smiled.

“I wasn’t expecting for you to say you like me or anything, I just had to tell you what I’ve been keeping to myself for 4 years now. It feels rather great, like the weight have finally been lifted off my chest or something.”

She took it rather well, or is it just an act?

“We will always be friends, right?” I asked.

“Of course!”

We stayed silent for a bit, another awkward moment of silence

She yawned, covering her mouth with her hand.

“I think we should go to sleep. I got the couch, remember that!” she said, before getting up from the floor and began stretching her body.

“Fine, I’ll just sleep up here then,” I said, trying to make myself comfortable.

She laughed, “Good night,” she said.

“Good night,” I said back, and she began to gradually disappear down the steps.

[Click to listen]

Now that she was gone, I was able to indulge myself in my thoughts.

I closed my eyes, thinking about her confession to me.

I wondered what she was probably thinking about right now, or if she had quickly drifted to sleep.

I wondered if she regretted confessing to me, because I had indirectly turned her down?

I wondered if I, myself like her or not.

I do, I do!

No, I think I do..

I do..

Do I?

Do I like her?

All of these thoughts going through my head was tiring me out, I could tell it was getting really late.

I decided to let my mind go to rest, and deal with all of this tomorrow.

Maybe then, I’d find the true answer to this complicated question.

---

I slowly opened my eyes and used my hand to block the shining sun ray from penetrating through my pupils.

I tried to sit up, but my back was stiff from sleeping on the floor.

I looked around to see three figures around me, Yoona, Sooyoung, and Taeyeon.

But where is Tiffany?

“Damn you guys, you forgot me here yesterday!” I said, rubbing my eyes.

“Yeah.. sorry about that!” Yoona mumbled.

“I told you guys not to play Go Stop! You got too addicted to it!” Taeyeon scolded Yoona and Sooyoung.

“Hey! You were playing too!” Sooyoung rebutted.

“Okay, okay. It doesn’t matter anymore, I’m kind of glad you guys forgot to come get me.. Where’s Tiffany? Did you see her?”

“Tiffany? Who’s Tiffany?” Yoona asked in confusion.

“She was stuck here with me last night!” I said, “Where is she? You didn’t see her when you came in?”

“The door was left half-opened, we didn’t see anyone in here.”

That’s impossible, the door was stuck wasn’t it? How could she leave?

“Dammit,” I grumbled, standing up. “I’m going to go find her,” I declared and ran down the spiral stairs, leaving the lighthouse.

Why did Tiffany leave without saying anything? Would she ever come back to find me? I didn’t even ask where she lived!

I started to panic as I hopped over the rocks to get to the main land. What if, just what if I won’t be able to see her again?

What if, she thought I didn’t like her, so she just left me like that?

I do like her! It’s true, I do!

I like her, I just know it.. these weird feelings are starting to engulf me. My heart was starting to ache.. what if I never see her again? She just disappeared without a trace like that!

I ran out into the roads, “Tiffany!” I yelled out ahead of me, “Tiffany I like you, I really really like you! Please don’t disappear on me like that!”

Suddenly I felt an object hit my back, a rock.

And.. GODAMMIT IT HURTS.

“WHO THREW THAT?” I yelled and turned around.

There she was, a few feet away from me, standing there, smiling. She brought her hands up and used it as a loudspeaker.

“I DID!” she yelled back.

I used my hands and did the same thing she was doing.

“WHY DID YOU DO THAT FOR?”

“BECAUSE YOU ARE A PABO!”

“I KNOW I AM!”

“DID YOU MEAN WHAT YOU YELLED OUT EARLIER?” I shouted to the best of her abilities.

“NOW I DO! I WAS HESITATING BEFORE, BECAUSE I DIDN’T KNOW IF MY FEELINGS FOR YOU WERE TRUE. I KNOW WHAT MY HEART WANTS NOW!!”

“WHAT DOES YOUR HEART WANT?”

“IT WANTS YOU!” I yelled as a loud as I can, I am sure my voice would be a goner soon after this.

She laughed and ran towards me, I did the same, running towards her.

We stopped inches away from each other.

“Are you sure?”

“More sure than ever. I never felt my heart ache this bad when I realized you left.. I thought you left me forever without saying a word.”

“Is it still aching?” she asked, placing her hand on my chest.

“Not anymore, it’s probably smiling right now because of you,” I paused and grinned.

“I LIKE YOU TIFFANY HWANG FATTY MIYOUNG!” I yelled out for the world to hear.

“HEY!” she shot me a glare, “I’m not a fatty anymore!”

“I LIKE YOU, I LIKE LIKE LIKE YOU, TIFFANY HWANG MIYOUNG. I LIKE YOU MORE THAN ANYTHING!” I yelled out loudly in the air.

“I LIKE YOU TOO YURI, KWON YURI. MISS POPULAR KWON YURI. I LIKE LIKE LIKE YOU MORE THAN ANYTHING INCLUDING TOTORO!” she yelled back equally as loud before a few people walking by started to stare at us.

I didn’t care about them.

“I LIKE YOU LIKE YOU TI-“ I started, but was cut off by Tiffany who covered my mouth with her hand.

“Shh,” she said, before releasing her hand and ran away from me.

“Hey! Come back here!” I yelled as I ran after her, running as fast as I can until I caught her with both hands. My arms were wrapped around her waist, holding her tight.

I turned her around to face me, we both smiled as we looked into each other’s eyes.

I started to lean in, pressing my lips against hers as we both closed our eyes, savoring the kiss for as long as possible before I had to pull away with a burning question in mind.

“How did you bust the door out?”

“It was never stuck in the first place.” she said and stuck her tongue out at me.

She pushed me away and continued running, “CATCH ME IF YOU CAN!” she yelled.

“EVERY TIME I CATCH YOU, YOU OWE ME A KISS!” I yelled back, before I quickly try to catch up with her.

Our relentless cat and mouse games with each other would never end, and that’s the striving force of our relationship.
