[Well, he heard about her new job, so he's stopping by towards the end of her shift! He was going to make her wait on him, but apparently she's not even trying to do what she's supposed to do.]

[WOW, KARKAT, YOU ARE SO NICE. really. such a romantic.

Terezi doesn't notice him stopping by, so she continues to doodle boredly. it is a drawing of a dragon biting a house's roof off, exposing the tiny, vulnerable humans inside. she starts on the next panel, in which the dragon captures all the humans.]

Are they actually paying you for this?

[yeah but who wouldn't with Karkat's bodacious ass in a waitress uniform

she looks up, surprised.] Huh? Hi, Karkat! What are you doing here!

I came to see how much of a disaster this was going to be.

[foretastes]

Hehehe. [she... she won't argue with that, she is kind of a disaster on wheels here.] Aren't you at least going to tell me I look cute? Except I know you won't really, you'll just be dumb about it and I'll have to assume.

It's just a dumb human uniform and shoes with wheels, I don't see what the big deal is.

[But now he feels kind of annoyed and also kind of bad that she called him out on how he would react. They're supposed to be dating now, so he can at least try.]

Fine, you look nice. Is that good enough?

[foretastes]

[she just knows him too well! and it doesn't bother her too much, really- if she minded how Karkat usually was, their relationship wouldn't be where it was now.

although, you know, it would be nice to get complimented now and then because all Terezi ever hears from anyone is 'you are insane' or 'STOP LICKING ME'. she seems surprised when he tries.]

Hehehe! Good enough for now. [she tugs him down, intending to give him a kiss, but realizes they are in public and thinks better of it. she lets him go, not sure of whether he'd be comfortable with that. oh well.] Um... sit with me!

Sure.

[He looks a little flustered; for a second he thought she might be trying to kiss him, and he isn't sure how comfortable he would be with that somewhere crowded like this. But she doesn't, so he just slides in the booth next to her.]

I don't know if we'll get anything to eat. I hear the service is terrible.

[foretastes]

Mean! [Terezi gives him a kick in the shins with her wheeled foot beneath the table.]

Would you rather be served by me or Spidertroll? 'Cause she's working here too. [Terezi frowns. it's like someone in Mayfield who specifically hates her paired them together here.]

Oh my god. The trainwreck is just too much to be believed. The bodies are piling up on either side, but the trains won't stop coming. They're traveling inexorably to messy devastation and it's too late to turn back now.

I think between those two choices I'll just starve.

[foretastes]

[tries to smack him, flailing her hands at him.]

No! You're supposed to pick me, jegus! It is obvious she would only poison or spit in your food and upend her gorge into it, but I would totally serve you well!

Okay, okay, I pick you. You're probably a marginally less awful human waitress.

Are you two really going to compete over this?

Yes. ...Ugh, no! That's what she wants. [and she can't let Vriska have what she wants. playing up a rivalry with her will only make her feel smug.]
