Hobbiton
We just got back from our trip to New Zealand, and I thought I'd share my Hobbiton pictures, right off. The set was rebuilt for The Hobbit, and they actually added 7 more Hobbit holes. This time they won't be tearing down any off it. As a matter of fact they are looking at establishing a number of additional facilities.
Stage 1 (immediate)
- Establish 'satellite' cafe inside the Green Dragon.
Stage 2 (2013-2014)
- Establish 'Hobbit Hole' conference and incentive centre for hosting groups.
- Establish a movie screen in the lake for showing 'outdoor' movies
Stage 4 (2015)
- Establish future multi-purpose exhibition space for the display of movie stage sets and movie memorabilia.
- Establish new Visitor Centre (larger than the current Shire's Rest)
They already started work on the road to the Shire's rest, It's being widened to handle an increase in two way traffic
