...It's completely unfair to mix up poor innocent animals in war. It's not like they asked to be a good aid for fighting among people. At least some of them like it, but... honestly. If you have to specifically train a horse not to be scared of the sounds of battle, shouldn't that be some kind of an indication that they're not meant for such things?
I'm not saying people shouldn't fight to protect themselves and their homes even if the war is an idiotic one; I've done as much myself, after all. However, they should do it by themselves and not force other creatures to help.
The poor things think they're going to get to do something exciting when all they'll be marching into is pain...
