Book survey, stolen from scaeriefaerie13
1. One book that changed your life: David Starkey’s Elizabeth: The Struggle for the Throne. In short, it’s the book that started my fascination with Tudor history; until then, it had been merely a passing fancy. And now, I’ve completed changed the course of my career to pursue what I love: Tudor history.
2. One book you have read more than once: There are a lot.
3. One book you would want on a desert island: Anything by David Starkey.
4. One book that made you laugh: Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, by Douglas Adams
5. One book that made you cry: Falling Leaves, by Adeline Yen Mah. Reason: all of the good people in Adeline’s life suffered horribly; her grandfather, her aunt, and Adeline herself. The fact that it’s a true story had it all the worse.
6. One book you wish had been written: Any number of stories that I’ve been meaning to write. They’d make great books, if written by the right person.
7. One book you wish had never had been written: Memoirs of a Geisha, by Arthur Golden. What an atrociously inaccurate book.
8. One book you are currently reading: The Historian, by Elizabeth Kostova. It’s a great story so far; too bad that I have so little reading time.
9. One book you have been meaning to read: Dune, by Frank Herbert; Casey has been telling me to read it for years.
