(no subject)

After several weeks of mentally veering between being very certain that I chose the correct major for me and being depressingly certain that I did not, I have decided to arrange a meeting with the head of ISU’s history department and inquire as to what I need to do to change my major to History. I’ve decided that, while I do love animals, I really only love cats enough to justify studying Veterinarian Medicine. And really, that’s not a good enough justification; I was trying to figure which three species specific courses to take during the next two semesters, and I realized that, beyond the companion animal course, which mostly covers cats and dogs, I don’t care about cattle, horses, sheep, goats, or pigs enough to be interested in their related courses.

Then I asked myself why in the hell I am studying this when my interest is in only one specie; then I had about three moments of worry about how my reputation would be affected by switching from a “hardcore” major to a major which falls into the “social sciences,” and what my friends and family would think. And finally, I decided that anyone who gives me crap for switching my major in order to pursue the subject that I truly love is not worth my time.

So basically, I decided to screw it all and do a complete about face by switching to a major which is not even vaguely related to my current one.
