Several members of the Celtic Dance Society went to a Gan Bua concert in Des Moines. The concert lasted four hours, and was great. At one point, towards the end, two of our party decided to get up and dance (they weren’t the only ones), and I ended up getting pulled out into the center of the audience with them for a short, impromptu reel. The entire night was quite fun.
Several senior members weren’t able to go because an instructor from the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society was in Ames to help them prepare for the teacher certification exams. Hopefully that’ll go well for them. A few years from now I may try to get certified as a teacher too.
