SO got kicked again by the cow. She has both Mastitis and Pneumonia... Poor girly. The milk has to be tossed because she is on antibiotics. People are not fully milking her OUT and this causes plenty of issues ( Read more... )

I hope she didn't hurt you too badly. She prolly just doesn't like the antibiotics. I can't blame her.

Having the syringe of antibiotics placed into the teat would make for a grumpy cow for sure. Her temp has been 103.1 when normal is 101. Mastitis is something that swiftly happens and every woman I know who has experienced it readily states that they would have cut the offending gland from their own body. Last update I heard was she was milking better out of that teat at least.

Do you have a link for making raised beds with boxes?

ETA Or is it just the obvious? Take box, put dirt in it? :)

I use the cardboard to line the bottom of my raised beds on top of the chicken wire to keep out the gophers. So no I haven't gardened in cardboard. I have taken wooden boxes used for bottles of wine and turned those into gardens, the seams of the wood leaks so you don't even need to drill holes. They are great for growing lettuce.
