(no subject)
So I've got the start of a cold. Nose making thick bluck for the lungs to expel. My voice is shot. I made an excellent potato leek soup using an Emeril recipe that I added a parsnip and that truly enhanced the meal. I'm not a big soup person but it is a tool to repel germs.
Yesterday those damn equines broke the chain that locks them out of the feed stall. They polished off a full bag of bran, half a bag of senior horse feed, and half a bag of chicken scratch. I told them all that if they were to founder or anything else that they are screwed I will bring the vet and get a discount rate to knock them all off! They survived.
Tuesday I babysat Shelby and we made cookies most of the day. I saw this idea and had to do it too because of course what is more cool than Star Trek red shirts to sacrifice!
Spent the majority of today with Verizon. Last night the DVR tuner died. At 9:30 a.m. I went online to try to find out where to take the tuner to swap it out. A pop up window opened asking if I needed help. I clicked in it and asked how to lower my bill and to get the address to take the failed unit. The pop up person (still not sure it wasn't a robot program) said that they would help me with that once I redid my contract, sent me links to rebuild my bill 90 minutes later FINALLY I get a link to look up where to bring the tuner. I go to the store, they REFUSE to give me a tuner because I have an open work order (the above "New & Improved" contract.) The contract is to start on Dec 22nd. I demand to speak to someone higher. The only thing the store could do for me was to lead me to a bank of phones where I could speak to another Verizon person. 13 minutes until the phone is answered. Told me he couldn't do anything and I stopped that malarkey, STOP the work order then this store can release me the new unit. Oh yeah, that works. So after another 15 minutes the first girl takes the confirmation number I was given and switched out good for bad. Then she showed me the receipt and number so I could call and get help to reset up with the new turner unit. I go home. I plug everything into the new unit. Follow the instructions in the box, the TV shows Verizon box saying it was initializing, I go out and feed the horses, come back to see a message that this has failed. I then call Verizon number... 1 hour and 56 minutes later the TV is on. Bill gets home and it died again. It came back up and now having invested a whole day on this I fully anticipate the death of this unit Friday. Just sayin.
Sounds like there is an opossum walking the fence right now, dogs growling... must have a clue and moved along, dogs have returned inside.
The solstice has arrived, the days will now get longer. For me this is a very good thing.
Grabbed this today and really like the emotions and sense it evokes. Stop spending time with the wrong people. - Life is too short to spend time with people who suck the happiness out of you. If someone wants you in their life, they’ll make room for you. You shouldn’t have to fight for a spot. Never, ever insist yourself to someone who continuously overlooks your worth. And remember, it’s not the people that stand by your side when you’re at your best, but the ones who stand beside you when you’re at your worst that are your true friends. People who want to be in your life are. I'm not here to be used and discarded or just as a resource. I know this.
