Yippy June gloom today. Grow tomatoes grow!
So I'm 47 now and would like to believe that the RIDICULOUS behaviors from being a teenager in Jr. High & High School would NOT still be happening today. I remark about them because I'm AMAZED that the level of CRAP is still just as inane. I befuddled about finding it still happening. Perhaps I should just lower my expectations of humans and expect the worst? I've tried that before and it didn't work for me, I'm still flat headed from running into walls like a crazed goat. I extend my friendship but getting PREVENTABLE drama in return is not appreciated. No one can help/prevent RWLA (Real World Life Attacks) and that is IMHO (In my humble opinion) is where solid friendships are boiled together into lovely teas of pleasant complexity.
You know that it has been a long while since someone called me up to say. "Oh I've just read X book, please read it so we can discuss this as I find it fascinating" Seriously the suggestion list by Amazon is beating out IRL (In Real Life)PEOPLE I know for meaningful relationship!!!!
I want to have conversations about fiction, about new thoughts, changes in cultures, values that get superseded by reality, cheese!
These days I'm reading "Boneshaker" by Cherie Priest. Bill & I attended a Science Fiction convention in San Diego with a large steam punk presence and I kept wondering why. Bill found this book as a gateway into learning more about the fascination.
Has anyone read any Carrie Vaughn? I'm interested in her Kitty Norville series. A werewolf talk show hostess. The cover art on the books looks too much like bodice rippers but Amazon recommended it because of my purchase of a Jim Butcher/Dresden Files book. I also see that she has been picked by P.N. Elrod for an anthology "Dark & Stormy Knights" (again crap bodice ripping cover art on that too! wth). Those are two solid leaders.
no more dumb
