Reality door

Last night a most dear friend called from the hospital. Her husband had some dangerous stroke like symptoms and her son had taken him directly to the ER that they just happened to be very close to. Bill & I were at services and left soon after they ended. I suppose it is a bit diferent how we are relaxed in the ER. So many of our 'dates' have been doing rounds. My friend was pulling a freighter holding 'it' together. My first glance showed that the right eye had no control and lolled off the the side yet there were no other signs I could think of that showed a right sided stroke. My thoughts were something impinging on one of the cranial nerves. Bill was a love breaking everything down for them to digest and hovering over the ER staff to see that our friends got news ASAP. Again I realize the amazing FORTUNE I have in a spouse. The years I took care of my grandmother as she aged were better because I had access to a bright physician.

Another issue is that this is what real friends are like. We share the good and the bad. Last year when Bill's dad passed I could call and just say in 15 seconds the situation and know that my herd and home would be taken care of for a week. Its not like the aquaintances, who can call when they have an emergency or need. They take and go on their way. I loathe when people use Bill because it is abuse. He is a most sensitive soul who has a soft heart, he sees the situation in the moment and gives whatever he can because it is right. Then when he has pains, needs where in the hell are those people? Why can't they call him NOW. Yeah yeah I know it is about choices and choosing the people who honor you and yours. For myself I don't offer such needed or valuable services unless someone has a pet issue. Then I always look at this as helping an animal, I couldn't care if it were Caligula who called, it is the animal that matters. I suppose I should just continue to let go of my dreams of an interactive caring society, after all life provides the Praetorian Guard.

Today we are going to a party for a HS graduation. I'm not fond of the rents but the graduate wanted us to attend. Well I better go and get chores done. Dog bath day YIPPY!!!

friends, being honest and true to self, rant minor
