What did you do in 2014 that you'd never done before?
Posted some of my sketches online.
What was your favourite moment of the year?
Being told that our new kitten was perfectly healthy. Woohoo!
What was your least favourite moment of the year?
Having surgery. I also lost my mother-in-law and my girlfriend's mother within 6 weeks of each other.
What would you like to have in 2015 that you lacked in 2014?
A septic system, insulation in the walls, and shelving on the walls, please.
What places did you visit?
I visited New Jersey for a Doctor Who convention and went to Washington's Rock. One hell of a view.
What dates from 2014 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
5 June. We heard something crying and found a tiny kitten in our front ditch.
Hedge is now the most rambunctious member of our feline family.
What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I made an effort to sketch regularly and finally filled a sketchbook.
Did you suffer illness or injury?
I was in hospital to remove a 10 cm cyst. Ouch. Fortunately, it was not an emergency.

Whose behaviour merited celebration?
Everyone local got along, for the most part.
Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
People being stupid.
Where did most of your money go?
Food.
What did you get really excited about?
Art.
What song will always remind you of 2014?
Can't think of one.
Compared to this time last year, are you:

Slightly fatter.
What do you wish you'd done more of?
Knitting, drawing, reading. And I want to learn to paint.
What do you wish you'd done less of?
Being despressed.
What was your favourite TV program?
Supernatural. I also enjoyed Q.I., The Walking Dead, Shameless, Orphan Black, and Transparent.
What was the best book you read?
I've been reading a field guide to mushrooms.
What was your greatest musical discovery?
Halestorm and Five Finger Death Punch.
What did you want and get?
Art supplies: watercolour pencils and drawing pens.
What did you want and not get?
New glasses. Must make an appointment...
We also need a new computer. We've had no internet all year.
What was your favorite film of this year?
Love Is Strange, starring John Lithgow and Alfred Molina.
Although independent films are not his usual viewing, stormsongk went with me and enjoyed it as well. We talked about character, script, and cinematography all afternoon.
What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Insulation in the walls.
How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2014?
More subtle blues. And my first floral shirt in years.
What kept you sane?
My sketchbook.
What political issue stirred you the most?
Marriage equality. This year has been amazing.
Who do you miss?
Badger.
Who was the best new person you met?
Wendy Padbury, who played the 2nd Doctor's companion on Doctor Who in 1968-1969. She's utterly charming.
What was the best thing you ate?
A homemade toasted cheese sandwich with Cotswold cheese and sweet cheddar.
